I’m just going to throw it out right now. Maui needs community cat management. Neighborhood cats aka Brian and Susi will not support community cat management. Maybe to support the future needs of MHS as a facility. Maui can control the overproduction of cats. This is not the impossible dream. 😲

Truly the hardest aspect of rescue. Luckily came to us from the Kula rescue a couple months ago. He was super nudge sweet and earned a spot in the household. His notched ear and tattoo gave away his age, and sadly he passed today. At Surf Cat Ranch we provide love to the end. 😪

We accepted a RTF cat today, and we were informed that the cat building at MHS has four cats available for adoption. Please community, use your funded resources to care for community cats. The community cat rescues are at capacity.

This is Cougar. He is a Lahaina fire cat relinquished to Surf Cat Ranch. He required medical treatment and snarled and swatted every time you approached his pop-up. Today Laura Ackerson pet him for the first time. 😺🥰🥳🧑

I need to make this statement as Maui Kokuakats, Surf cat ranch and/or Linda Banziger. Curt and I were blessed with land and a love for cats and created a sanctuary for unadoptable cats on Maui. We are self-funded. No 25 millions in donations and 50 plus employees. When a clearly, friendly , adoptable cat and or kitten needs help, please trust Maui Humane Society will provide resources for you.
I do not want the be doubtful about a path a cat 🐱 s on. I do question why Maui Humane Society is full and beyond capacity. I have about 250 cats at Surf Cat Ranch and I am one person with a manager and a handful of workaway volunteers. Why are you at capacity? I went to your website and about 100 cats are listed. Why are healthy adoptable cats and kittens being turned away or returned to field? Surf Cat Ranch will be a resource for feral/aka community cats. We have taken in about seventy Lahaina cats offering them a permanent home. MHS has resources to create a feral cat sanctuary. Please consider this pathway for the displaced Lahaina cats.
