REPOST FROM

The Seresto flea and tick collar has been causing issues ever since it hit the market in 2012. Over the years, an estimated 100,000 incident reports have been filed regarding the product's harmful effects on both pets and humans. ⚠️ Alarmingly, 3,000 pets have reportedly died after using the collar. 💔

This is Waylon.
After chasing down a doggy daycare bus this summer, he’s finally getting a seat of his own AND a new sister. Back in July, Waylon was spotted roaming the streets by the driver of a dog daycare bus in a small town in Georgia. “He wanted on the bus badly,” driver Tyson Cash said. “He was doing everything he could to get on with the other dogs,” but without knowing his vaccination status, they couldn’t let him on. He followed—or, more accurately, raced—the bus down the whole stretch of road. Worried that he might be hit by another car, the daycare posted on their page trying to determine whether the guy had a home nearby. They came up empty. But then, one of their other clients reached out to see if he could join their pack. They already had another lab, so he’d fit right in. And he does! They named him Waylon, and his wish to board Keller Creek’s pup bus was finally granted about two weeks ago, once he was up to date on all his vaccinations. He gets to go once a week with his big sister, and he’s loving all his new daycare friends. His first day included a welcome pup cup, pool time, snuggles, and a chicken nugget. “It worked out perfectly. You couldn’t ask for a better ending,” Cash said. 13/10 welcome home, buddy (credit Keller Creek Boarding & Grooming and Sadie Peace on FB)

Repost• RIP Elliott Erwitt (1928 - 2023)

"I take a lot of pictures of dogs because I like dogs and because they don’t object to being photographed and they also don’t ask for prints." -Elliott Erwitt⁣

Documentary photographer Elliott Erwitt is known for his black and white candid photographs. Erwitt is able to find whimsy and absurdity in everyday situations, making his photographs exhilarating to look at. You can almost see the wink and smirk coming from Erwitt in his captures.⁣

Erwitt has covered an array of topics in his photographic work, but dogs have always been a constant. They have been the subject of six of his books - Son of Bitch (1974), To the Dogs (1992), Dog Dogs (1998), Woof (2005), Elliott Erwitt's Dogs (2008), and Elliott Erwitt: To the Dogs (2012). I've looked at what feels like millions of dog photos, but can always tell when its Elliott behind the camera.⁣

In his 2008 book "Dog Dogs," Elliott wrote, "Until recently, I have never especially set out to take dog pictures but somehow dogs appeared in large numbers on my contact sheets. A few years back while looking through my inventory of pictures to assemble a retrospective book and exhibition of random photographs taken on my travels, I was surprised by the preponderance of dogs. Obviously, my sympathy for the creatures was deeper than I had imagined."⁣

He's drawn to dogs for much the same reason that I am and really everyone is. Dogs have an intoxicating energy and allure, and the connection they form with their humans is really unparalleled.⁣

“My attraction to dogs is stirred purely by emotion… For me, the dogs are both an excuse and a reason for taking these pictures. They give me an excuse because they make good subjects. I like them, people want to see them, I can’t resist!”

Nervous and anxious pet owners make for anxious pets.

Do anxious dogs become anxious because of their parents? Maybe. But it’s more complicated than that.
