These cats are currently at the shelter and looking for a home. The adoption fee is $85 however, you are given a $75 voucher that will go toward the cat getting spayed/neutered and a $10 rabies voucher that will go toward its rabies vaccine. If the animal is already sterilized & rabies vaccinated, the adoption fee is waived entirely. The spay/neuter and rabies vaccination will be done at a vet of your choosing but only $85 will be covered. The shelter covers their first round of vaccines, a general health vet check-up that includes FIV/FeLV test, and a lifetime microchip that is registered before you leave.

Huge shout out to these wonderful people! Ewok came into the shelter matted so bad he looked like a mini sheep! They clipped him up and get him looking super nice for his transport! Thank you!
I was found strolling down Spencer Hwy close to Underwood Rd, a good Samaritan saw me and thought I was about to get hit and pulled over and picked me up before that could happen. If you know who I am or who I belong to, please call the LaPorte Shelter at 281-842-3700 and let them know who I am. I am microchipped but the chip is not registered. I was adopted from the Pasadena Animal Shelter and my chip was not registered through them before I came home. My chip number is 985112011173950. Please help get me home.

The shelter is at capacity again so we are looking to move some animals into homes! This weekend we are doing Free & Sponsored Adoptions as well as Foster-to-Adopt Fast Applications! If you can't commit to full-time to a new love, considering fostering for us! We can provide some supplies while you are caring for our animals! Come see us this Friday-Sunday!
Update** Melinda found a foster! We even were able to get a few more kittens out and into foster homes! Thank you all for sharing and caring! Melinda needs a foster!
We have too many dogs, some being puppies. We have sponsored those adoptions to get them out of the shelter asap! If you don't want a puppy, we have adult dogs who are already sponsored!
Danni wasn’t adopted today at Pet Palooza and she is upsetty spaghetti! Is there anyone out there who can turn her frown upside down?
This weekend was a HUGE success for us and we are SO grateful to everyone who came out. We started Friday morning with setting up wire kennels and we are closing the shelter with a few open kennels! We had 20 dogs go home either by adoption, foster to adopt, OR return to owner! How amazing is that! Take a look at the ones who were adopted and lets wish them the very best!
It Takes A Village to Care for the Voiceless! La Porte Police Department and La Porte Office of Emergency Management came out to give their time to help ACOs get dogs out when we needed it most. They are who answered the first call! This village is ever growing and the job is never ending so keep watching to see who joins this village!
Kia is ready for his new home. He’s been cooped up far too long! He will need a family who is okay with rough love and can take the occasional love bite. He would benefit from a playmate who isn’t afraid of him!! Hopefully someone is able and willing to adopt this lover!
A salute to our veterans, all adoptions for active or retired military will be sponsored for the day!
Jake is our longest resident and staff just don't know why! He is dog friendly, cat friendly, and KID friendly. He loves the pool and enjoys playgroups. He is kennel trained and knows to use the potty outside. He knows basic commands (only after the zoomies are done) and the in general the goodest boy. We took him to the MEGA adoption event and even there he had no interest... If you are unsure which dog to get, get him! - LPAS Staff
The shelter is completely full and we have dogs that are being kept in wire kennels and dogs are doubled up! We need some adoptions or some short-term fosters. If you are able to help us or looking to adopt a large dog, please get with us ASAP! Help us save lives!
Niall (aka Noodles) is now in foster care but is still needing some medical help and an adopter/rescue! He is so sweet and just wants to be a happy boy but needs some help to do just that. If you are help, reach out to Belinda LeBlanc as she is taking care of our sweet boy so we can keep our focus on the (too many) dogs still at the shelter.
