The aftermath of Hurricane Beryl has heavily affected our farms and farmer network. We share our positive thoughts and prayers to all who have struggled and might be still struggling in any way post-storm.

We here at PIF are in the midst of restoring our farm sites so our farmers can continue to provide fresh, seasonal organic produce to our underserved communities so we need YOUR help!

📣 PIF is making BIG investments in Houston farming and taking strides towards refugee economic inclusion in 2024

We are excited to offer 5 paid apprentice positions to newcomers who are looking to start a commercial or community farm. Apprentices will move through 3 different operations throughout the year, working with skilled mentors and PIF staff to develop the many skills needed to sustain a successful farm.

Classes will be offered throughout the year on business planning, marketing, regenerative soil management, and more with help from

Last year, our farmers partnered with , a Houston-based hot sauce company, to grow some delicious habanero pepper! Those peppers were developed into two amazing hot sauce flavors - the Horneado and the Mija Rosa! CSA members can now add them to their weekly farm shares!

PIF's urban farmers need your help!

Between the drought and extreme heat this summer, urban farmers have been hit hard by water bills. Across 5 acres of urban farms, PIF farmers have received water bills totaling over $10,000 this summer. The viability of these small businesses is under threat.

We are hiring! We are looking for a Farmer Education Program Manager to serve as project lead on our USDA 2501 Program farmer training grant. The Program Manager will help us expand our work to over 70 Houston-area New American farmers by providing technical assistance, coordinating workshops, managing the development of an educational website, and assisting with our land access work.
