Region 15/16 week-one of my favorite shows! Naturally it will be very hot as usual early July in Virginia. One group of horses is already there and the others soon. Still have to pack the trailers and make sure we have everything we need.
Here at home there have been some really good rides and great progress in many directions. We were able to work in the grass arena so able to tweak the dressage geometry.
Stay cool everyone!

We didnt melt at the PA Arabian Games show but came close! Our horses and riders were so very good and the horses got showers and fans while we sweated around them! The two indoor rings actually stayed reasonable with the fans and some air moving around. Baby horses accounted for themselves very well and the dressage rides improved as riders are challenging themselves to higher goals and more perfection. We are having fun!
Great to see so many PA people and a nice visit from Lee Gannutz who took a break from hay making to come visit!
Next trip will be Region 15/16 and hoping VA will be cooler!

Caitlyn Liam and I went to WEC in Ohio for the Region 13 sport horse show last week, Liams first regionals and he did not disappoint! Took everything in his stride and was not fazed about anything! He went into8 classes and earned 4 championships, two reserves and two Top5s! Such a good guy! A good friend, Gretchen Hurley joined us for a couple of days and it was so much fun catching up on old times and of course, showing off Liam! We need to add this nice show to our calendar for next year!

Great weekend at the NJHAHA show and seeing so many friends! Just Caitlyn, me, O, E and Liam. Missed the rest of our crew who were all busy with normal life stuff! The horses were all amazing but need to give Liam lots of points for being so laid back and open to learning so much! Thanks to Noelle Roberts for all your help and giving me new ideas to implement!
Our next outing will be REgion 13 for Liam then a big crew to the Arabian games.
Brielle si getting married and Sydney graduating high school next month, opening new chapters in their lives!

This past week was kind of weird with all kinds of crazy weather and riders going in all different directions in their non horse life! Two are getting married, one is graduating high school, one is going on a cruise but some of us are going to a horse show! Liam is going to make his debut in NJ and wis for him is that he completes the requirements of each of his classes and keeps his head in the game! I am excited about this!
My goal before we go to shw is to get the trailer washed! From sitting all winter the outside is pretty grubby with that green algae long some of the edges! Going to clean it rain or shine! (I know, first world problem!)

Great week with horses! I have been in the horse business for way too many years and have had the good fortune to work with so many nice horses over these years and I am continued to be amazed at the progress these horses and their riders have made and I have had the pleasure of being involved with. This week I really saw so much of that progress and I am excited about all these teams. Our foray into dressage is going very well and these horses have taken it like a duck to water! Fun times!

finally starting to warm up enough to start putting the crew out at night! Sure makes all of our lives easier less messy stalls and I don't have to traipse over hill and dale to catch them!
The dressage crew is improving ride by ride and looking impressive. REal happy with the hunters too and even Liam is really getting it! Just too much fun!

One of the many things I enjoy about horse shows is how much is learned in a pretty much intense couple of days. Horses and riders come back better and ready to move on to new things..
This week we went to basics in our sessions and worked the heck out of everybody and it was really good!
Decided Mr Liam needs a trailer loading lesson so he could get used to the ramp. Took a bit of time but he finally went on then totally refused to back off! He was used to being able to turn around and the straight load doesnt have the room for a big guy like him to do that. Fortunately it is a two plus one with aside ramp so we were able to get him off that way. He is now going to be spending a lot of time going back wards up and down hills, over rails, thru doorways until he gets comfortable. Kids!

Home safe and sound from a chilly, sunny, windy, rainy Blue Ridge Arabian show! We had so much fun despite the weather and great to see our friends and their horses! Our crew was totally amazing working thru some problems then come out on the other side shining! Baby horses just kept getting better and better and learning so much! First time riding outside for us so we got a bit spicy on the hunter courses but still acceptable trips! O and E were back for the first time after last years issues and Caitlyn was just happy to be on them! I earned my keep running between 3 rings but it was all good! A very positive experience for all of us

The excitement mounts as I do feel we are all ready for our first show! Good rides and jump schools and now we need to pack everything-always a tough task for the first show-where did i put everything last fall? Looking forward to seeing our horse show friends and their horses and excited to see some new ones. Als excited about the 3 youngsters we are bringing!

Blue ridge is fast approaching and we are gettng trailers inspected, vaccinations and dental work being done, dressage tests being memorized, fine tuning ridability in the lines and keeping baby brains focused. Now I have to around and gather all the show stuff that we packed away last fall and make sure we have all we need and as you all know, that is a lot of stuff!

03/17/2024

sunny but cool but a crazy busy day! EVERYONE came and rode and the horses went so very well! Just so much fun to work with such a great group of horses and riders! Pretty well ready for BlueRidge and I am thinking we need to get the entries in!

One would have thought that with all the rain and nasty weather yesterday the horses would have been at least, silly but NO! They were are wonderful! (I have to do a particular brag on Liam-wow, just wow!) Just so much fun to work with so many great horses and riders who try their hearts out!
We had a nice visit from Mark and Alysha Cranmore up from VA. Love having visitors.!
