We have just a couple more days to sign up for the next round of our Drink with your Dog class at Karben4 Brewing. Sign up before Monday, July 29th and get 15% off one of our favorite offerings using coupon code “Karben4”.
This class teaches essential patio pup skills such as settling on a mat, walking nicely through doorways and tight spaces, not stealing your food or beer, polite greetings with new friends and more. Pair that with a fruited sour (I can’t wait to try the “Thank You, Come Again”), or a delicious IPA and you’ve got a fun night for both you and your four-legged friend.

We’ve been working on something new this winter that we can’t wait to share with you! *drumroll please*
Are you Ready? Are you Steady? Our NEW shed antler retrieval class offers a unique training experience for dogs, teaching them to locate and/or retrieve naturally shed deer antlers. This fun sport taps into dogs' innate hunting instincts, providing mental stimulation and physical exercise.
There are no prerequisites for this class, but dogs who have some foundation in retrieving other things (balls, sticks, toys, etc) or some experience in nosework will do best.
We kept the cap at five dogs for this class, to enable us to have plenty of room to move around and to offer personalized instruction as needed. Cost of the class will also include one naturally shed antler for practicing at home!
Just getting started on nosework? Not sure if your dog is interested in antlers? We also still have a couple spaces left in our Intro to Nosework class which begins Monday, April 22nd on the Northside. Visit us at https://www.busydogtraining.com/scent-work/ to register for either class today!
Intro to Birch- Week 3
Watch the dogs in nosework class Intro to Birch look for their hide! They’re nailing it! 🦮💙
Our next Intro to Birch class begins this coming Saturday. Visit us athttps://www.busydogtraining.com/scent-work/ to learn more about our nosework classes!
The dogs in our Freestyle Foundations class are learning how to circle their handlers body. A few weeks ago, I shared a video showing how we begin working on this fun trick.
I thought you might also want to see a fun application for ‘orbit’ when not in Freestyle class, so here is my dog, Juniper, orbiting my body before I toss her frisbee!
Want to teach your dog how to do this? Check out our next Freestyle Foundations course beginning February 22nd here: https://www.busydogtraining.com/freestyle/
I thought you might all enjoy a sneak peek at one of the tricks we’re working on in our Freestyle Foundations class! This is the beginning of what will be an “orbit” or “go around”, where my dog will go around my body in tight circles. This is my dog, Phi, also learning this skill (this is her first time trying it).
So much fun!
How are you keeping your dogs entertained in this cold weather? One of our favorite indoor enrichment activities are destruction boxes! Fill a sturdy box with dog-safe toys, treats, or their meal and watch as your pup discovers the joy of unraveling the mystery inside! Let their natural instincts shine as they explore, sniff, and chew their way to happiness! 🌟 #dogenrichment #babyitscoldoutside #busydog #HappyPups

Meet the dogs in our Intro to Nosework class and watch them search for a hidden primary reinforcer!
I’m such a huge fan of this class. It’s great for confidence building, teaching our dogs’ problem solving skills, and just a really excellent way to add enrichment into their lives. Even if you have no plans to compete in nosework in the future, this class should be on your list.
Our next session begins June 3rd at Pups Unleashed! To learn more about our nosework program, visit us here: https://www.busydogtraining.com/scent-work/
The dogs are doing a great job finding birch that is paired with a primary reinforcer. Here’s a video compilation of all the fun we had last night!
Everyone in our Puppy Skills 1 class last night had the opportunity to work on socializing their puppy to grooming tools! We had foundation skills for nail trims, brushes and combs, oral syringes (filled with yummy chicken broth), muzzles, foundation training for receiving a shot, and more!
Slo-Mo Jumping with the dogs in our Agility- Beginning Fundamentals class!
Dog training is meant to be fun for both the human and the dog! Heisman can't stop wagging his tail while learning "play dead!"
