Katie Foster of CanterWorks Dressage is an FEI rider and trainer based out of Mason, Michigan in the summer and Wellington, Florida in the winter.

Katie Foster is a USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold medalist. She was a successful junior/young rider and has competed several times at the USEF National Championships in the Junior and Young Rider divisions as well as the Brentina Cup. Katie has multiple Regional Championship wins, has been a successful competitor at CDI's in Wellington, Florida, and has won at Dressage at Devon. In addition, Katie wa

s selected for and participated in the Dressage Foundation's International Dream Program, the Robert Dover Horsemastership Clinic, and the Young Rider Graduate Program. In 2016, Katie graduated with honors from Michigan State University, and earned a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science and a Minor in Agriculture Business. She also graduated from the Horse Management Program from Michigan State University in 2014 and was nominated as the Outstanding Horse Management Student by her professors. Katie has taught a variety of horses and riders, and enjoys working with horses and riders of all levels.

Our barn is a private dressage training facility and is conveniently located approximately one mile south of the Michigan State University campus in Mason, Michigan. We are looking for positive and hard working individuals who take pride in their work and who want to help provide excellent care to our horses. Job duties not limited to, but will include, feeding, turnout, grooming, stall cleaning, basic horse care, and general barn maintenance. We had a fabulous Barn Talk tonight with Dr. Jane Marie Manfredi! She spent the evening talking to us about anatomy, dentistry, bits, and bridle fit. She is one of the few researchers from around the world who has studied bits and bridle fit and she is an FEI rider herself, so she provided great insight into how bits and bridle fit affect our horses! Thank you Dr. Manfredi for taking the time out of your busy schedule to share your knowledge with all of us! We loved your interactive lecture!

We had another excellent Barn Talk this evening with Dr. Schott who spoke about infectious diseases in horses and how to keep your horse healthy while traveling to shows and other barns. It was an informative lecture that every horse owner should hear! There’s so much more to caring for and owning horses than riding. I’m so grateful we can put on these talks so we can learn how to better manage the health and well being of our horses! Thank you to Dr. Schott for sharing his time and knowledge with all of us, and to everyone who joined us this evening! Stay tuned for information on our next Barn Talk in August!
