She is frustrated. Because no one has given her a chance!

Pet received dog assessment; Pet was muzzled due to previous playgroup notes; Pet seemed very agitated throughout the entire session, stressed and possibly overstimulated by her environment; Pet allowed for the helper dogs to greet but was very fixated on removing her muzzle; Pet does not seem to have an intention to harm dogs but does appear to be suffering and the quality of her life seems to be diminishing rapidly

Pet is also severely overstimulated in the kennel and continues to stereotypically push the kennel door on a continues manner.

Brownsville, Tx. This dog was in my front yard in terrible condition. I gave him water, food, and medicine. I attempted to secure him so that he can be safe or find foster, but he doesn’t let me get near him. Poor thing has probably been tormented by evil people. Can someone assist to secure/foster him? ⏰ Rusty must have a hold no 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝟭𝗣𝗠 or he will lose his life. 🥺 We need pledges and a local foster for a rescue to help.💰🏡

Rusty is laying in kennel on the floor when I approach him. He cowars away once he see's me and avoids eye contatc. I lower down to his level and try to call out to him using baby talk , he puts his head down and I slowly leash him up. He freezes and refuses to get up so I have to carry him to the pop up kennel to clean his. Once he is in there he pancakes . Onced he is back in his kennel he is more comfortable. I offered him plushies along with enrichmet and keep his kennel covered. He seems to do alot better once he is in there
He was never placed on Adopt eval. Dog is timid and once leashed will pnacake and refused to walk. I tried to use treats as well as baby talk he did not show any interest . I had to carry and place him into pop up kennel
Rusty very fearful today , refused to walk to runs so was placed in cage during cleaning. when returned curled up in bed with back to kennle door

URGENT LAST DAY IS 8/22/24

Meet sweet Adam a three year old male pittie mix that was found as a stray. His owner knows he’s here and had put him on hold but sadly has not shown up for him. I can’t tell you how often this happens it’s heartbreaking and I’m sure Adam is wondering where his owner is why is he still here, unfortunately he has kennel cough which is like a bad cold or like the flu for humans he is already being treated. Please don’t let this stop you from adopting him. I wish we had a better picture of him. This is all we have for now please come to meet him. He also is heartworm negative

Jazzy was returned due to separation anxiety. She is on the 8/21 euth list

I met jazzy about three days after she arrived, I was looking for another dog and stopped in my tracks when I saw her wiggling in her kennel. It was love at first sight 🥺, and she has been my favorite ever since. She has been there 31 days and nobody has adopted her so her time is up. Jazzy is the type of dog that makes you forget all about your problems, she keeps you present and reminds you of the small things. Every time I’m with jazzy I can’t help but smile from ear to ear because she’s such a silly happy girl. I wish I could be more like jazzy 😌. Her skin has gotten so much better since the first time I saw her! Jazzy has met a bunch of dogs & loves slow intros. She has made lots of dog friends but one dog in particular had her barking but zero aggression! She can be a bit strong on the leash when she wants to but loves treats (which she takes very gently) and would be easily trained! I hope this girl finds her people & brings someone all the joy she has brought me.

Jazzy can be very vocal inside and outside her kennel. She greets me with a wiggly body and happy demeanor.

My wife and I have found a German shepherd on the side of cypress hill road yesterday and was looking to try and find it a new home. We brought it to an urgent vet and she didn’t have any chips or a collar that could give an idea of who her owners are, we have two small dogs at home and both myself and my wife work downtown to where we would not be able to keep her. Even though I’m already attached after one day. She’s super sweet and is kennel trained based on the fact that we said kennel at our house and she ran right in and laid down. She had a bit of a limp going right now and all though the urgent vet didn’t say much it looks like she may have a slight issue with her front left paw. Please get back to me ASAP. Thank you. We have also posted on numerous Facebook groups as well for lost and found animals.

No owner has come for him and he is now needing his forever home. He has been neutered by the shelter that he does have kennel cough but it’s being treated. I do wish we had a better picture of him. This one does not sure how cute he really is. He’s also only 48 pounds. He also has heartworm negative! What’s sad is a lot of these and take pictures show just how scared these poor babies really are.

Meet Rosie this sweet girl only 27 pounds came into the shelter hurt she is around 2 yrs old a female lab mix! The vet has done all she can for her there has been no x-rays done because they are not set up for that at the shelter but she drags her back legs she cannot walk on them or use either back leg. When the vet touches her feet, she can feel them, but she needs an x-ray, and for someone to take her in! my heart breaks for her she really needs to get out and to see a vet right away. Will a rescue step up for her and she needs a really good foster staff said she is a sweetheart. She has sone pledges already but

Her story is so sad she is a 8 yr old pittie mix she is spayed and Heartworm negative, she came in as a stray but we think she may have been dumped sadly! We did find out she is not dog friendly and I don’t think good with cats but a total sweetheart she is wonderful with people. She loves to cuddle and sleep with her human. She’s so deserves a home there has to be someone out there with no other dogs that can come and adopt this beautiful girl today her adoption fee is $16.

We’re excited to introduce our 8 little Hurricane Debby evacuees!On Wednesday, August 7th, our staff traveled to Taylor County, FL, to rescue these 8 dogs who were in urgent need of help. The shelter in Perry, Florida, lost power and experienced flooding in the dog kennels. Along with three other Florida shelters, the Humane Society of Broward County accepted these animals to provide them with the care they need.These young adults were already up for adoption before the storm, but one dog requires medical care as he is severely underweight. Thankfully, all the dogs have settled in well and are now ready for adoption! Oh Mackie1-year-old Mackie is such a sweet and gentle giant ❤️ Mackie lived with his former family his whole life until sadly the landlord said he had to go. Now, this beautiful boy with the soulful eyes is quietly waiting for another family to notice him. Mackie is a real sweetheart and, despite his size, thinks he is a lap dog ️ He enjoys getting treats and will take them gently from your hand. He is great with children and was so happy to spend time with our summer campers this past week ️ Mackie is also good with other dogs, especially big ones.
