All good things come along with 4 year old Domingo! 🥰 He’s a special guy that we have been trying to place for over a year now. We can’t figure out why he keeps getting overlooked and can only imagine it is because he tested positive for the FIV virus. But Domingo is otherwise very healthy and thriving and in our experience FIV positive cats can live as long as negative cats when they are well cared for and are in a stress free environment.

HAPPILY HOME FRIDAY 🏠 ❤️ Rico is a Tuxedo kitten surrendered (along with his two siblings) by someone because she couldn’t afford taking care of them. Luckily, after spending a couple of weeks at our PetSmart adoption center, he found a new home in midtown where he now has a two-year-old cat sister and parents who adore him. 🥰 From his new mom:“Rico is doing well and has been renamed to “Cosmo”, and we can tell that he’s learned his new name rather quickly! For the first night he was a little bit shy and we let him have his peace under our bed, but ever since, he’s learned that we (my partner Jerry, myself, and Zoey) offer nothing but love. ❤️ Zoey hissed at him day one, and we kept them separated, but the hissing completely stopped after switching their areas with each other, and slowly introducing them to see each other. In just three short days-time the situation was totally different. Zoey & Cosmo have been the best brother and sister. 👯 They play a ton, chase each other through the house (at all times of the day and night) and both sleep (usually) at the ends of our bed. When they aren’t sleeping (which is probably around 5 am onward), they love to wrestle, explore their favorite tunnel, share churu treats, and watch cat TV together. Nero 🐈⬛turns a year old at the end of April and he’d like nothing more for his birthday 🎂 than being adopted to a family who will give him lots of love and toys and treats. Even better, he’d love his foster brother Kirk to be adopted too. These two met just a couple of weeks ago and they are already great friends. 👯 Nero isn’t at all hampered by having just one eye, 👁️ having lost the other due to a bad infection and Kirk shows him no mercy as they wrestle and chase each other. They are a fun, curious, interactive duo who enjoy wrestling but can both be lap cats - they love their humans - and are both fond of their Churu meat tube treats! 😋 Peaches (aka Peachy-keen) is a 3yr old tabby with white who loves to play fetch with her foam balls (she’s very specific about which ones!). She will let you know when she wants to play or is craving attention. 🥰 Peaches will sleep at the foot of your bed doing her best to keep you warm, cozy & safe. When we first met Cece she was a little girl who cried and cried, almost mimicking a human baby, to get what she wanted. Now she’s a little lady at 7 1/2 months old and she uses other means to get what she wants like her endearing behaviors such as keeping a paw on you in bed, being sure to always have a point of contact or letting you pet her all over including her belly and her toes! That’s not to say that she has totally given up the vocals. You’ll hear her excited sounds when she thinks it’s mealtime, whether you think so or not. She tried life in one home but she and the resident cat didn’t see whisker to whisker on things so she’s back on the hunt for a home, maybe with a young hipster who wants to have a good time. You know the grandpa or the great uncle who visits and immediately makes himself at home. He lowers himself down in the most comfortable chair and asks you to get him a glass of scotch and the remote control or the newspaper?🥃📰 He doesn’t understand boundaries, doesn’t get offended, and still thinks of a family in the traditional sense so he asks when you’re gonna settle down and have kids. But despite his crassness, you adore him and relish the time spent with him. Well that is 15 yr old Kurt, only he will ask for some treats and a soft blanket. 🥰 He’ll amble around your home immediately upon arrival, introduce himself to your cat, even if your cat is not enamored with him and shuffle around until he’s found the most cozy spots, which might just be on your chest. He wants to know what you’re doing and where you’re going and especially what you’re eating at all times. He’s not shy to tell you what’s on his mind, ask for belly rubs or express his joy with lots of purring when getting brushed. He is a part of the scene, schedule and routine from the moment he arrives as if he’s been there for 15 years. Maybe he’s seen enough in his long life to not be phased by much. Despite his age and the fact that he is FIV positive, he is remarkably ok health-wise. Puma is looking for a forever home 🏠
Laughter is good medicine and Puma is ready to give you a daily dose. Who couldn't use a good laugh everyday. Whether it's his attempts to reach 88mph for time travel 🏃♀️ or his belting out show tunes (Lion King is his obvious favorite) 🎶 or maybe when he practices his David Copperfield act and makes your things disappear (causing his foster mom to tape down the puzzle pieces as she puts it together) 🪄 or when he tests the theory of gravity (as all cats are DNA wired to do), Puma is just a constant source of entertainment. And to complete the package, he also has quite the cuddly side. 🥰
Puma enjoys the companionship of his current housemate Glinda, but he tells us he's open for new opportunities and maybe he's ready to ditch the ladies and just hang out with a bro.
We should mention that Puma has asthma and is on a daily inhaler and sometimes takes steroids as well. He barely notices it and like any kid, he whines and wiggles when he's pulled out of the game to take his meds, but once he's freed, he's back out there imaging he just scored the goal that won the World Cup.

Detective Domingo is hot on your trail. 🕵🏻♀️ Tracking you from room to room you’ll feel like you’re being followed but when you turn you will find a sweet kitty cleaning his paws. 👀 Carry on, nothing to see here. Take a few more steps and there’s a flash, maybe the faint sound of a scamper behind the couch. 💨 Go into the kitchen and his cover is blown as he can’t resist the possibility of a meal or a treat. 🤤
When he is not tailing you, he is investigating the whereabouts of the toys he hid earlier in the day, especially the toy mice which he loves to bat around. 🐭 He probably learned to be vigilant when he was trapped behind a fence near an abandoned restaurant in Tribeca.
When he is off the job, he will come find you for some petting and as he gets more comfortable with you and in your home, he will sit nearby to kick back for some R and R. 🥰 He’s also happy to swat at a dangly toy. Estimated to be about 3 years old, he adjusts relatively quickly and he will make you feel secure as nothing goes undetected around him.

Marvin is a gentle boy (about 3 yrs old) with a kind soul. He is shy at first but he loves to eat and offering him yummy food is the best way to make friends with him. After spending a couple of months with a foster family, he found his forever home on the upper east side.
At first he was mostly hanging out under the couch and only coming out to use the bathroom, but we recently got this update from his new mom:
"Marvin is definitely getting more comfortable and even fully came out from under the couch yesterday for some food and pets! He half came out this morning as well before a sound in the hallway spooked him, but I’m certain he’ll be settled in fully in the next few weeks."
