✨Meet Cloud, a 10 month old pet rat. 🐀Cloud visited us due to her owners’ concerns of sneezing and lethargy. After a thorough exam she was diagnosed with mild sinusitis. She was so brave for her exam and treatments and is such a sweet little girl! 😍

🩺Respiratory disease is common in these little creatures, and it is important to have them seen by a veterinarian as soon as symptoms begin to develop. Treatment usually consists of antibiotics and supportive care. 💊🐾

Look at that face! 😍Ruby, a 2yr old Wheaten Terrier, came to see us due to her allergies flaring up! Ruby is no stranger to this allergy season and has been receiving treatment to aid in her comfort level during this time of the year. She always is a delight and a happy girl! 🐶

🐾Dogs can suffer from allergies just as us humans can. There are so many forms of allergies, therefore, it can take some time to determine the cause. ✨Meet Dr. Sutherland, one of our excellent and caring veterinarians with 19 years of veterinary knowledge and experience. Dr. Sutherland is a Nebraska native, born right here in Omaha. After graduating from Roncalli Catholic High School, she received her bachelor’s degree from Doane College, then went on to pursue her veterinary degree from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Following graduation, Dr. Sutherland practiced for 7 years in ❄️North Pole, Alaska before moving back home to Omaha to be closer to family. She joined our clinical staff in 2012. Her extensive veterinary skills encompass the care of dogs and cats, as well as exotic species like rabbits, guinea pigs, rodents, and even small birds!🐾🐦🐹
Dr. Sutherland’s calm, thoughtful, and gentle demeanor helps put her patients and clients at ease. She is always ready to listen and share her knowledge, ensuring our patients receive excellent compassionate medical care. 🩺

Dr. Sutherland and her husband share their home with 5 children – all boys!🥰 Her family has pets of many different sizes and species, including a rescued Greyhound, cats, birds, and horses. 🐱🐎Dr. Sutherland enjoys staying active through horseback riding, running, and sports like soccer and tennis. She loves spending time outdoors with her family and exercising her creative side through various craft projects like leatherwork, scrapbooking, sewing, and crochet. 🪡

✨Meet Joshua, a 6mo old guinea pig. He was such a calm, good boy for his first veterinary appointment today. After having his eye checked and his nails trimmed, he loved his treats! 🫶

⭐Meet Mango, a young Pineapple Green Cheek Conure. This was Mango’s first veterinary visit. She needed her nails trimmed and was very curious and easy to handle. 💖

🦜Pineapple Conures are one of the more popular small parrots to own. They stay relatively small, and have friendly and social personalities. In the wild they can be found in the Amazon rainforest, where they can be seen flying through the canopy and foraging for food. 🌴

🌟Meet Bodie, a 4yr old Abyssinian guinea pig. He came in today for a teeth trim procedure. He did amazing and comes to see us a couple of times a year for this procedure. He is quite the special pig! 🐹

Did you know guinea pigs’ often have dental malocclusion, which is due to overgrowth of the teeth. When this occurs, it causes discomfort resulting in the inability to chew and swallow food. Periodic trimming of the teeth is usually necessary in affected individuals. 🦷

Abyssinian guinea pigs are known for their unique coat. The hair is notorious for whorls or rosettes and comes in many colors and patterns. They are often energetic and inquisitive! 💖

🐶Meet Millie, a 3month-old, Beagle mix. This is Millie’s first veterinary checkup, and she was such a sweetheart! Dr. Belshan gave her a clean bill of health. 🩺 She received and returned some much needed love to Licensed Veterinary Technician Joanna. Millie is a rescue pup and is loving her new furrever home! 💖

💖Meet Kusa, a 2 yr old, Pineapple Green Cheek Conure. 🦜This was the first time we met Kusa and was awarded a clean bill of health!🩺 Kusa is quite the character and has picked up on phrases such as “I am a good bird”, “Do you want a treat?”, and “What’s up?”! ✨Meet Sabine, a 4yr old Red Iguana. Sabine has been battling a skin infection, and Dr. Belshan has been treating her with antibiotics, topical medications, and medicated baths. She is very lucky to have such dedicated owners and is doing very well! 🦎

The red Iguana is a sub-species of Green Iguana found primarily in the Western Regions of Costa Rica and is a powerful reptile. 🌴Researching and understanding all aspects of reptile ownership is crucial to providing them with a suitable environment and proper care. With the right knowledge and dedication, these unique creatures can thrive! 💕

✨Meet Maddie, a 14 yr. old Umbrella Cockatoo. She was recently rescued and has found her forever loving home. She brings much joy and laughter with her ability to talk, especially with her signature phrase “Maddie Bird”, and many other phrases. Dr. Roelofs saw her for her first visit today. She was so brave! 🦜

Umbrella Cockatoos are known for their intelligence and charming personalities. It is important to remember they are a long-term family pet commitment as many can reach up to 60 years old and require daily special care! 🌴

Being a veterinary technician is Cindy’s second career. 🎓After retiring from the Air Force as a weather officer, Cindy attended Vatterott College and became a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 2002, embracing her true passion and calling, helping care for pets and their people. 🐾

Cindy is conscientious, compassionate, and dedicated to her patients, clients, and colleagues. Her enthusiasm for continued learning is unparalleled, she regularly attends educational presentations and brings this information back to share with her co-workers. 🩺Cindy has extensive knowledge and experience with behavior and training. She has attained Elite Fear Free Certification and is a passionate advocate for stress-free handling of all our patients at All Creatures Veterinary Clinic. Cindy is also All Creatures’ “resident expert” on all thing’s reproduction and puppy development. She loves providing clients with the guidance and knowledge they need to help get off to a great start with their new puppies and kittens. 🐶🐱

❤️When Cindy is not at work, she is most likely with her dogs Kylie and Dara - the 4th and 5th generations of her Bearded Collie line. She has titled her Beardies in herding, rally obedience, and conformation; and has participated in agility and dance training. 🏆 Cindy has served as an AKC Herding Judge and Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.
