Animal Rescue Network of New England (ARNNE) is honored and grateful to be the recipient of one of this year’s Pelham Community Spirit Grants. It was an outstanding honor to stand before our community as a recipient of this generous grant. ARNNE extends our heartfelt thanks to Pelham Community Spirit for their belief in our vision and mission. We look forward to sharing our progress with you and making a lasting difference together.
With this grant, we will be working towards ascertaining a separate, suitable quarantine structure also located at the ARNNE Kennel which will allow us to not only assist NH residents, but we will be able to extend our rescue support to Massachusetts and other border states/towns.

🏡Happy Tails Update: Roo🏡

Ruby, now going by the name Roo, is thriving in her new home in New England. Here's what her proud fur mom had to say about her:

“Roo has been thriving, she has the biggest personality, she absolutely loves people and must be where we are at all times. She even can say her own name by howling “wooooooo” when she wants something. She also has brought out more personality in our other dog as well, they’ve been a good pair for each other. We’re so grateful she came into our lives and she is loved every day.”

Scroll to the end to see Roo’s transport photos before she found a lifetime of happiness with her forever family 🥹🫶

🏡Happy Tails Update: Ivy🏡

From originally being at a shelter where they were planning to euthanize her due to space limitations, to being transferred to another shelter, but even there, the situation was dire as they were also at full capacity to finding your forever family and a furry sister to shower you with endless love and cuddles (Last two photos are Ivy’s intakes).

From Ivy’s adopter: Ivy loves to run crazy through the house with her toys and although they don't last very long she enjoys plating with them. She loves her big sister Lady. They keep each other company and have become inseparable. She loves all treats and attention from anyone and everyone. She enjoys her fenced in backyard as she can run and burn off all that puppy energy. She is a big girl who offers a lot of love and we are so happy to have found her and adopted her.

We love you Ivy girl 🫶

🏡Happy Tail update: Toad now Eddie🏡

After spending his first year as a pup chained up outside and forbidden from entering the house(last picture is his intake photo), he found his way into the hearts of a loving family❤️

Update from Eddie’s family: Eddie is a dreamboat, on the surface he has a regal demeanor. He leaps like a toad, stalks like a lion, hops like the bunnies he chases and has a neck like a giraffe. His favorite things are his precious stick, bubbles, sunbathing, walks with or without his siblings in the stroller and snuggles with his family. Once he loosens up he gets real goofy with his toys - he fully frolicked in his first snow. His patience and easy going manner has helped our kids become more comfortable with all dogs. He has become our bus-stop mascot. We love him so much and our lives are better with him. We like to think his is better with us around too!

Happy Tails Eddie 🫶

We might be a little biased, but there's a whole lotta cuteness at our shelter! 😍 Will you be the one to make their dream of having a family of their own come true?

🎀Pip: 3.5 yrs old
•House AND crate trained!
•Sometimes she likes to bark & nip but don’t worry!! Pip comes with a committed & will continue to help my new family with training.
•Up to date on all shots!
•Boss lady who’s lived and played with other dogs in homes and on play dates, but wants to be leader. Best in a home with no other dogs or a submissive friend who’s ok with Pip running the show.
•Thrives on daily exercise. This girl will keep you busy!

💚Gizmo: 1 yr old
•Handsome terrier mix with big forever puppy eyes.
•Up to date on all shots & neutered.
•Gizmo loves all people, adults and children(10 & up)
•Dog friendly but he’s got a lot of energy so if he’s going to have a doggy sibling it has to be a dog that wants to play, play, play!
•Crate & fully potty trained.

For more information please visit www.arnne.org. OR if interested in either pups please fill out an adoption form https://arnne.org/adoption-form/ and we’ll be in touch!

🏡Happy Tail update: Cheyan now Mia🏡

🚗From Tennessee to New England. Adopted in February 2020. Last photo is what Mia’s intake photos were at the shelter.

Update from Mia’s adopter: “Mia is a goofy little cuddlebug. She was pretty shy and nervous still when she first came to us, but she’s really grown into a funny, independent (as long as she’s not alone for too long haha) and sweet girl. Everyone who meets her absolutely loves her and our baby niece now calls all pups “MIA!” Her favorite things are cuddling, walks, being outside in general and ALL the sniffs. I should also add that she’s brought so much joy to our lives and is such an important member of our family♥️”

From all of us at ARNNE we are SO happy to see what a loving home could do for sweet Mia girl. Wishing you many more years of joy and making memories in your forever home. Happy Tails Mia💛

On April 6, 2024 ARNNE (Animal Rescue Network of New England), in conjunction with the Pelham Police Department, and Pelham town Hall held a low cost rabies clinic. The clinic provided many dogs from our community, as well as neighboring communities, the opportunity to update their state required rabies vaccinations at a low cost.
ARNNE would like to express our sincerest thanks to the town of pelham; the Pelham Police Department; and especially Pelhams’ Animal Control Officer Allison Caprigno for the hosting and supporting this event. The event succeeded in its purpose. Many were updated on their rabies vaccination at a low cost. In addition, several pets received a microchip which will help in the unfortunate even that a pet slips away and is lost.
We would like to thank veterinarian Dr Vergina Seng for her services. Her expertise and professionalism made the rabies clinic operate smoothly and in accordance with vaccination requirement for each dog and cat.
We have a special thanks to Darene LaRochelle of Gage Hill Grooming for donating her professional services to the rabies clinic and allowing us to offer complete nail services to our customers at a low fee. There were 40 pets who left the clinic with happier paws!
We would also like to thank ARNNE board of director member Jeff Payne of Anitech Dog training and twenty plus year long ARNNE volunteer Maureen Graham (A previous Dracut, MA Animal Control Officer) for their support in this event. This duo of experienced folks added to our safety layer as well as the handling of animals who were a little anxious or afraid to go to the doctor.
ARNNE thanks the community in joining with us to achieve our goals of animal wellness.
Left to right.. Veterinarian Dr Virginia Seng, Pelham NH Animal control officer Allison Caprigno, and Gage Hill Groomer Darlene LaRochelle

Many people may not realize they might qualify for $25 spay and neutering for their dogs and cats.
This has been in effect since 1994 and is still the same price. Confirmed Feb 5th by Stephen K Crawford, NH's state veterinarian. There are forms to fill out to prove you qualify. (attached)
When asked where to find a list of participating veterinarians he replied:
"We don’t post a list of practices since it can change, and we lack the staffing to keep it current. When someone contacts the program for an application for their pet, the program assistant provides them a current list of participating practices that are local to the applicant’s address.
Thanks for your willingness to share a mention of the APCP."

It is not mandatory for veterinarians. They also have to fill out paperwork to qualify. But, as spay and neutering costs are in the hundreds of dollars this is worth checking out.

Please let us know how it goes if you apply for this assistance.

*ADOPTED*

Meet sweet Daisy! (Really, you should...)

Cut and paste to your browser: https://photos.app.goo.gl/rUtXKZZwLRACWXECA to see over 80 photos and many videos.

Daisy is a small, playful, 3 year old Cur mix. She's only 25 lbs but looks much bigger in her photos. She's been with us for 6 months. Daisy lives in a cement kennel at a gun range but still meets constant volunteers who care for her with love and snuggles. She would rather be meeting you.

General Behavior: Daisy is ready to enjoy...everything! She starts the day at full speed. Tag, you're it! She is the life of the party anywhere she goes and she knows it. She's not a barker at just anything, but will bark when she wants to play. Daisy takes quick breaks to check in with you and snuggle to tell you how happy she is. She’s so happy that her walk has a constant wiggle to it and she adores everyone she meets.

Likes & Dislikes: Daisy loves to run, play, and explore. She’s easily entertained by a squeaky toy. Daisy won't chew the house up but makes quick work of stuffed toys (we just put the stuffing back in). After some exercise she’s ready to climb right on your lap for endless snuggles and a good nap. She loves pets and feels like suede. Dislikes would be being left alone a lot or ignored.

Training: Daisy’s very food motivated and eager to please making her extremely trainable. If there’s even a chance you have a treat in hand, she’s instantly politely sitting at your feet with her puppy eyes. She takes treats gently. She loves to eat but is not food aggressive with people.

Medical: Daisy is a healthy girl who's current on her vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped and spayed. She just needs monthly flea and heartworm medication. She could stand to gain a few more pounds but keeps burning them off playing.

Other Animals: Daisy plays hard and fast with other dogs. She is good at a dog park but at home she wants to be in control. Daisy pushes being Alpha with other dogs. She starts off at a fun energy level but revs up and revs up, not knowing when to stop. It is recommended she be your only dog.
Daisy has been around a cat but each cat is different and they would need to be tested together.

Children: OK, but should be older dog savvy children who won't tease and wind her up.

Home: She will do best getting out her energy in home with a fenced yard. She is not a loose leash walker, but is getting better as volunteers walk her a few times a day. She does well kenneling overnight, no barking or whining. Daisy is crate and house trained. She does great with a doggy door.

Grooming: As a short-haired dog, Daisy does not require elaborate grooming, regular baths and nail trims and she's good to go!

Overall: Daisy is like a puppy, still wanting to play with toys and run around. Active people, Daisy is looking for you. We know you are out there looking for a dog to match your energy. Daisy is a very smart girl and eager to please! She would do great in an active home that will keep up with her high energy and playful demeanor. And did we mention Daisy loves to snuggle? She is an affectionate girl. Have lap, will cuddle. And she rolls over for belly rubs.

This perfect girl to ready to be in a real home with a family that will treasure her! She will treasure you back. If you would like to have a loveable dog in your life, please, visit www.arnne.org and start by filling out an adoption request form

Meet Pip, Pip is a 3.5-year-old, petite 35-pound Chi/Pit mix who made her way from a South Carolina kill shelter to find her forever home in beautiful New England.

Pip is an absolute sweetheart who adores people and is ready to shower her forever family with endless love and affection. She's a true people lover! Whether it's going for walks, enjoying the view on car rides, or simply snuggling up on the couch, Pip is happiest when she's by your side.

This adorable girl is already house and crate trained, making her transition into her new home a breeze. Plus, she's a quick learner and knows the command "sit" like a pro! With her high food motivation, Pip is an excellent candidate for further training and is always eager to please.

Pip's energy is contagious, and she thrives on daily exercise. She's looking for a family who's ready to be her walking buddy, rain or shine. Together, you can explore the great outdoors and keep her high energy in check.

When it comes to other dogs, Pip is a total boss lady. She has successfully lived and played with other dogs in the past, but she prefers to be the leader of the pack. So, if you have a submissive furry friend who's okay with Pip running the show, they'll make the perfect companions for each other.

While Pip hasn't been tested with children or cats yet, her joyful and spunky personality suggests that she'll fit right in with a loving family. If you're looking for a loyal and affectionate companion, Pip is ready to steal your heart!

Help us find Pip her forever home in New England. Share this post and spread the word about this amazing girl who deserves all the love and happiness in the world. Let's make Pip's dreams come true!
