Every day is a good day, when you're Stan the Man!
Please enjoy this video of Lizzie tolerating Rebel's rude puppy antics.
Rebel obviously has a bit of work to do in the socialization department, and we will continue working with her, but for those of you looking for an absolutely remarkable, well-balanced dog, please consider Lizzie.
Lizzie is a 3-year-old mixed breed that came to us from Qatar in June of 2021. She has been consistently overlooked for the past eighteen months because she tends to be a bit shy with new people, and also because she is not a greyhound or a saluki.
However.....not only is Lizzie an absolutely stunning girl, but she has been great with every dog we've ever put her with, and is cat safe! Although she can sometimes let anxiety get the better of her, overall she has a steady and calm demeanor. We think she would thrive in a suburban or rural home environment with kids twelve and older, and will become a very sweet and loyal companion.
Lizzie is being cared for by National Greyhound Adoption Program in Philadelphia, PA. Our adoption areas include PA, NJ, NY, CT, DE, MD, NoVA and DC. For more information on Lizzie, please email [email protected].

On October 26th, this little girl was taken to ACCT Philly, Philadelphia's open intake shelter, after she was found roaming the streets. It turned out that she had a registered microchip, but when ACCT contacted her family, they expressed that they were unable to care for her and did not want her back. Her name was Rubble.
In the shelter, Rubble was fearful, and had some skin issues to contend with. Even though she was treated, and appeared to be improving, she unfortunately contracted the dreaded upper respiratory infection (URI) which is so common in city shelters. She became very sick , and her declining condition ultimately landed her on the euthanasia list for Friday, November 4th at 10am. Thanks to ACCT's lifesaving emails, and some amazing videos posted by ACCT staff and volunteers, we were able to determine that Rubble would be a good fit for our program. We made the call (and sent the email) that morning, and pulled her in the nick of time!
Rubble arrived at National Greyhound Adoption Program in pretty rough shape. She immediately got an extra special bubble bath, and later that day, one of our wonderful vets at Dutton Road Veterinary Clinic examined her and put her on a good course of antibiotics to treat her URI. She didn't cough very often, but she had a very, very, gooey, snotty nose, and was lethargic. She also did not want to eat, and she was vomiting. Without food, it was hard for her to get her antibiotics, and without antibiotics, it was difficult for her to get better. We took some x-rays and then scheduled her for an ultrasound to rule out an obstruction. Thankfully, she was all clear, and after some intervention by our amazing Director, we were able to get Rubble eating and back on track.
Once on the mend, we knew we had to do something about that name. No dog, especially one so pretty, deserved a name like 'Rubble'. Staff had come up with lots of fitting names for her, but since she answered to Rubble, we decided to call her Rebel, since i

We just know there's someone out there who would love to be greeted by this happy face and waggy tail every day. Could it be you?
Scooby has been in our kennel for over year and we can't figure out why! He is just the sweetest guy, and has so much love to give. Scoobs would really enjoy an active family with older children, a single person, or couple that likes to take long walks or go on hikes. And while he has had friends here at our kennel, he would do best as your one and only dog. And no cats or small critters for this guy!
Scooby just wants someone to love, and to love him back. He promises to shower you with kisses every day and be completely devoted to you.
Please share for Scooby, or better yet, come and meet him yourself! You will not be disappointed.
