For over 40 years, Lancers Square Animal Clinic served the Plano community as the city’s hometown veterinarian. We are sad to announce that the clinic will close its doors effective June 10, 2022.

Lancers faced many challenges during the past few years, including the widespread impact of the pandemic, the industry-wide shortage of veterinarians and veterinary technicians, and ongoing building maintenance issues that severely impacted our ability to deliver the highest quality service to our clients and exceptional healthcare for their pets.

We understand this is extremely difficult for our clients and our veterinary staff. We are committed to doing everything we can to work through the process in a caring and compassionate way.

We're celebrating Vet Tech Week!!! Say hi to our Vet Tech, Sarah! Sarah‘s love for animals started early, as she started being a vet tech in her high school years. Her passion for helping and saving lives then lead into her career as a EMT for 13 years, but she never stopped loving animals. Sarah transitioned back to veterinary medicine when she lived and worked on a farm, caring for a vast range of large animals. There was truly never a dull moment, and Sarah has never forgot the intense bonds she formed with the plethora of drastically different animals she worked with.

Sarah eventually did move back to the Dallas area, and has continued her love of animals as a technician at Lancer’s Square since 2018. Sarah‘s interest outside of the workplace includes spending time with her wonderful husband and her two fur babies Ratchet, a goofy and handsome Great Dane, and Switch, an adorable and sweet Catahoula.

Thank you for all that you do for us Sarah!

Why has my veterinarian been so busy? Due to COVID-19, we've seen a huge uptick in the number of adoptions of pets in the past year and a half, as well as additional safety precautions implemented to keep our team members, clients, and pet patients safe.

With more people at home to interact with their pets and notice issues, our practice has been busier than ever, so that leads to an increase in wait time, especially if we're short-staffed that week.

We have not changed our commitment to provide your furry family members with the care they deserve. We simply ask for your continued patience, kindness, and understanding as we get through this difficult time together.

We are excited to welcome our new practice manager, Bridgette! Today is her first day and we are thrilled to have her on our team.

Bridgette is a born and raised Texas girl! Originally from Mansfield, she now resides in Melissa. She graduated from Mansfield High School and went on to receive her Veterinary Assistant Certification from the University of Texas at Arlington after two years at TCC.

Her love for animals started at a very young age. She would take home any and every animal that needed "saving," which is exactly how she ended up with most of her pets. After working as a veterinary assistant for three years, she moved into veterinary practice management! She has now been in veterinary medicine for 15 years! She's never worked any other job that felt so rewarding!

When she's not working, she likes to spend time with all of her babies. She has a beautiful and talented eleven year old daughter, Hailey, and she has Frankie the rescue pittie, Quinn the rescue mutt and Flash & Turbo, her sulcata tortoises. She also enjoys crafting, karaoke and brunch with friends!

Dr. Lee Reeves has had the pleasure of caring for your family’s pets since starting Lancers Square Animal Clinic in 1978. Dr. Reeves has had an impact in all of our lives, so it is important we share his next chapter with you.

On Wednesday, May 26th, Dr. Reeves will officially be retiring and we hope you can join us in congratulating him on this next phase of his life!

Dr. Lee Reeves and our team are confident you will remain in the best of hands, and we will continue to offer the highest level of care you have come to know and expect.
