Position overview: The Dog Foster & Adoption Coordinator serves as the primary contact for potential and active Animal Aid dog foster parents and dog adoption applicants. This person works with the Animal Care Manager and the Dog Intake & Adoption Committee to coordinate the placement of dogs into foster homes, oversees communication with dog foster parents, coordinates additional resources as needed by foster families (e.g., education, training, etc.), and participates in the adoption process for all dogs. This is an $18 an hour, 20 or 25 hour position (to be determined in consultation with the new hire) with medical healthcare benefits.

We’re recruiting for a new Volunteer Coordinator; Cindy, our outstanding, long-term coordinator is moving out of state in September. While we can’t replace her, we are hoping to find one or perhaps two people who can step into this role and train with Cindy before she leaves. What does the Volunteer Coordinator do? Provides volunteers for GPA Northwest events, activities, and functions as requested by board members, committee chairs and other coordinators to assure adequate numbers of volunteers for these activities, like our Playdates, Hound Wash, Winter Sale, Annual Picnic. The Coordinator maintains a list of active volunteers’ contact information, sends group email messages to recruit volunteers for specific events, provides for training needed by volunteers for the event, attends or arranges for volunteer coordination at events. This may be a good role for two people, one to do the pre-event communications with our volunteers, and another to attend events as point person for volunteers and assure smooth operations. On Monday, December 24, 2018, at 9:13 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a robbery at Columbia Bank, located at 4805 Southwest 77th Avenue in the Raleigh Hills community.

Witnesses reported that an unknown male approached the counter and passed a note to a teller demanding money. The suspect then fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. Deputies, assisted by Beaverton Police, conducted an extensive search of the area but the suspect was not located. No injuries were reported.

Sheriff’s office detectives are releasing images of the suspect and asking for the public’s assistance identifying him. He is believed to be the suspect in numerous bank robberies in the Portland metro area.

The suspect is described as a 50 to 60-year-old white male, approximately 5-foot-8 tall, medium build, gray-haired, and wearing prescription eyeglasses.

Sheriff’s Office detectives are working closely in coordination with the Beaverton Police Department, Portland Police Bureau, and Federal Bureau of Investigation on related cases.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Washington County Sheriff’s Office detectives by calling (503) 846-2700.

Hey there, I haven't updated you in a while and I wanted to say I became regional inbound coordinator for SEKO Logistics here in Portland last year. Nowadays I am a freight forwarder for this fast growing shipper. I have even had the chance to move a couple of pieces for some Bark Market customers of years past. I am mostly overseeing freight moves for Oregon and SW Washington businesses of all sizes.

That flaming orange bag of p**p can’t leave well enough alone, so now you must bring your own bags.

The Delta, and the Government Shutdown:

Due to the now effective government shutdown, we volunteers have been told to discontinue any activity at the Delta.
What does this mean?
We will not be emptying the trash cans, nor stocking the dog-bag dispensers.

What can you do?
Please bring your own bags, and carry your "waste" away.
If not, we will have a heckuva job emptying overfilled bags, and/or have a mess along the trails, so please be considerate and help keep the place clean for all visitors.

The good news, the cans have been emptied, and the bag dispensers stocked just before things went dark in Washington, so let's hope things don't last long.

Additional note: Be aware that the toilets may be locked!!!
