Mason bees are different than honey bees. Did you know that Mason bees are solitary bees, meaning they don't form colonies and aren't susceptible to the hive collapses that threaten the global food supply??

They’re more active in cool, moist mornings than honeybees, and their remarkable lifecycle means they gather a year's supply of food – and do all their pollinating – in the spring when fruit trees are flowering.

They’re struggling in the wild because of lack of habitat – and your backyard can become a haven for these gentle, non-stinging, efficient and fascinating creatures.

Learn how to tend them and increase your flock, and maybe buy some farm-grown bees at a discount (if you wish)!

Mason Bee Tending Workshop

❄️ Ice storm update: We are okay! We had 7 trees fall throughout the series of ice storms, with several trees blocking the driveways, which we were able to clear out of necessity to get home and keep TLC Farm accessible!

Image 1: There was a big hole in the driveway that was created by some of the trees that fell which has now been filled up with new dirt.

Image 2: There are still a few trees leaning near the driveway that we're working with the State Park to take down safely.

Thanks for reaching out and sharing support and concern! We hope everyone was able to stay safe. 🩵💙
