Kay's Wish - Adopt a Shelter Pet was created in honor of Kay Lubold, beloved staff member of the Hillside SPCA in Pottsville, Pa.

Kay passed away in April of 2016, and it was her wish to help inspire shelter pet adoptions and to raise awareness for Joe and Caroline’s Spay/Neuter & Emergency Fund at Hillside SPCA. Joe and Caroline’

s Spay/Neuter & Emergency Fund helps pay for animals in need of emergency care, all medical bills for the animals in residence, and spaying and neutering for those awaiting adoption. If people can't adopt, Joe and Caroline's Fund is a way to help a homeless pet in need. Our little Chickpea received a clean bill of health from the vet and is now ready for adoption!

He is a little nervous and will take time to settle into his new home. Chickpea would benefit from someone who can dedicate time to building his trust. His foster home is working on converting him to a pellet diet and getting Chickpea used to hands near him.

We are so happy to announce our sponsored adoption weekend thanks to our wonderful friends at Reading & Northern Railroad!! Our adoption event will take place Friday, December 8th through December 10th. Our hours are 11am-3pm.

Dog adopters will be responsible for covering the cost of a dog license. By law, every dog must go home with a license the day of adoption.
