She's
silly
DRAMATIC
cuddly
SO MISCHIEVOUS a comedy queen.

Her blankets
must be arranged very specifically. She will fix them if you don't do it right.
She will also
give you a look while she fixes them.

She gives
the most slobbery gummy enthusiastic kisses
and intentionally aims
for your glasses. She's part
goat
and probably leads a double life
as a secret agent.

She will also lie down dramatically like you're trying to
murder
her
when you tell her it's time to go back to
her room.

Meet Smurf, our friend with the City of Raytown, Missouri! This sweet little brindle pit mix baby was found hiding under dumpsters and rescued by a caring individual. He was wearing a Smurf collar, so the name has stuck. He's still a little scared but loves to snuggle and play with all of the toys. He loves his new dog friends and is learning to be calm around cats. He is around 10 weeks old and available for adoption.

‼️ URGENT ‼️ Bronx needs a new home ASAP or he will be euthanized! Why? Bronx does not get along with other dogs and needs a home with a secure fence or leash walks.

But Bronx is absolutely perfect otherwise. He finds joy in cheese treats, silly voices, car rides and pup cups, rolling in the grass, stretching out like a frog, and playing with stuffies.

Most of all, Bronx is happy being with his people and making them laugh. He is great with kids and shows them how much he appreciates their attention by giving them sloppy dog kisses. If you're feeling not so happy, Bronx will be there to help you through the rough patches by listening to you and putting his excellent snuggle skills to work.

Bronx is good on leash, but a fenced yard would be fabulous. Bronx needs to be the only pet in his new home.

Introducing Toby the Dobe!

This boy is amazing in both looks and personality! He's between 1-2 years old and weighs in at 60lbs. He loves to play with his toys, likes other dogs, and is fine with the kiddos. He sits, is learning to shake, and is working on his leash manners. We don't know how he does with cats, but The Pet Connection can tell you how to do a safe introduction with your fabulous feline. He loves attention, pets, and snuggles, but he'll also alert you to strangers and settle back down once he knows you're aware. He's a great boy who deserves a home just as wonderful!

Meet Sol. He's a very handsome big guy; his fur is a sleek, thick "Russian-Blue" type fur. He is very active and very involved, so don't be surprised if Sol wants to supervise your work activities or help you around the house. He loves to play! The interactive toys are a favorite and enjoys exploring absolutely everything.

In addition to his good looks, Sol is an affectionate, cuddly teddy bear. He will lay on your lap, behind you on the back of the chair you are sitting in, or on the arm. He's a great conversationalist, too, with no shortage of opinions.

Sol has lived with a nice dog in the past and lives happily with a dog in his present foster home. He's been living for years with a female cat but he's a bit of a bully toward her, so might be cat selective. (We are looking for separate homes for them.)

While big and adventurous, Sol, can be scared by loud noises and will take just a bit to check our newcomer humans. He is such a loving cat and such a good boy who has been moved around way too much in his life; he needs and deserves a long-time, loving home.

UPDATE!! Dexter has been adopted!

Dexter’s an affectionate goofball with a ton of love to share with some lucky adopter. Dexter likes playing with his stuffie toys, going for short walks, curling up next to (or on) his person, and being told what a handsome boy he is. (So darned handsome!)

Dexter weighs about 60 pounds and is around five years old. He gets along best with small female pups and is not a fan of the felines.

Have you ever seen the giant teddy bears at a carnival and wanted to take one home? If so, Zeus is the guy for you! This beautiful boy is a 120lb XL bully mix, who does well with dogs and kids of all sizes, has lived with cats and has manners on top of all of that!

Dexter, our friend from Pawsitive Tails Dog Rescue, needs a foster or adopter ASAP. His current foster family loves him very much and Dexter has his foster dad wrapped around his little paw, for sure. But foster dad is dealing with a devastating diagnosis of brain cancer, which is making it more and more difficult for the family to provide Dexter the care he deserves. This family has been fostering Dex for four years and needs assistance. Will you help, please, by fostering or adopting Dexter, or even sharing this post?

Meet Ruthie! She is everything you could want in a girl, including her angel wing tattoo markings on her back! She's a younger pit mix, chocolate and white, less than 2 years old. She gets along with dogs, cats, and kids and would do best in a home with an older dog she can bond with and who will show her the ropes. She came to us with some nerve damage in her right front leg and with medical treatment she is starting to use the leg and is expected to make a full recovery.

After the 4th of July holiday, the City of Raytown Animal Services is once again near capacity and they need to move this sweet girl into a foster or adoptive home soon.

Do you like food? Are you looking for a fun, playful pooch? That's amazing! Atlas likes food and is both fun AND playful. In fact, Atlas will do just about anything you want for a treat (cheese! chicken! Milk Bones!) and he loves playing with balls and squeaky toys.

At the same time, Atlas is also gentle, affectionate, and loving once you are his friend. He'll solicit attention, pets, and chest scritches. That's when you know you're in his inner circle! He's done great meeting kids, too. He loves other pups and is making friends with dogs at The Pet Connection! He's not encountered cats that we know of.

Atlas is such a good boy who is just looking for someone to call his own. Could that someone be you?

Hi there, I’m Griffin! I’m silly, curious, cuddly, and smart, all wrapped into one fantastic friend. My friends at Dog Gone Rescue, Inc. wanted me to spend some time with my trainer foster mom at The Pet Connection (Official) where I could learn that humans are good and kind and that I don't need to be afraid. I've learned that and so much more!

I’m an adorable three-year-old boxer mix, with a delightful personality and the cutest face that's sure to make you smile. I’m already housebroken, and I have experience in a crate, too. I am so polite and well-behaved in my foster home. I don’t bother a thing, even when no one is home. At night, I sleep on the couch or in a chair without making a peep. During the day, I get the zoomies now and then, for exercise and entertainment sake.

When my foster mom has to work, I stay nearby, usually having a nice snooze. I also love car rides, movie nights, and chilling on the couch. Belly rubs are a bonus! As long as I’m with you, I’m happy!

I love playing and exploring in a fenced yard, but I also do well in a country setting, where my foster home is. I don’t react to chickens, ducks, or geese. I like to play with other dogs after an appropriate introduction, but I also think since I'm so wonderful, I'll be quite enough for you on my own!

I’m looking for a low-key home with kind people who love spending time with me. I’ll be happiest with adults or older, dog-savvy kids. Younger kids make me nervous. Felines are not my friends, I'm afraid, but only because I'm very fond of their food and am not inclined to share.

I’m a little shy when meeting new people, but once we bond, there is no place on earth I’d rather be than right by your side. I hope maybe you’re looking for a dog just like me to welcome into your life.

Binx, our friend from City of Raytown Animal Services, needs a foster or adopter ASAP!

She's a very happy girl in a fun-sized package and she loves everyone she meets. Now she needs someone to love her back.

Binx's adorable floppy ears and compact bully/hound body are pretty irresistible. To top it off, she spins around and does cute little dances when she's happy. She's only about 35 to 40 pounds and four years old and she's so much fun to be around!

She's done well with other dogs and would just like a chance to meet her new canine companions before she goes home with them. We don't know how she is with cats, but Binx gets along great with kids.

Posey is a quiet, shy girl who didn't have the best start to life. She lived with someone who let her have litter after litter of kittens. While Posey was trying to take care of her last litter, he fed her bone meal -- no water or food to help her survive, much less stay healthy. Only two of Posey's kittens survived.

Now Posey and her kitten Oscar are looking for homes. They don't have to be adopted to the same home, but sure do look cute together if you're inclined to adopt two kitties.

Posey likes being petted, napping in sunrays on soft blankets, and having quiet conversations with her human friends.

Moss is a great lab-mix boy with a ton of personality! Let's chat about his personal stats, first. Handsome here is about eight years old and 65 pounds--perfection!

Moss can be shy when meeting new people, but he's a whole different dog when he has another dog to play with. He lights up! Moss loves to play year-round, too! His favorite toys have squeakers (yay!), and he'll play fetch with you and chase with his dog buddy.

When it's cold outside, Moss likes to cuddle up and rest his head on your lap. During the summers, though, he can be found rolling in the grass and sunbathing. No matter the season, he appreciates butt scritches and belly rubs.

This boy is incredibly smart. He knows how to sit, stay, come, look at me, touch (your hand or a post-it placed somewhere), shake, lay down, and find it). Moss is very treat motivated, so teaching him new things will be a breeze. He likes to be challenged with puzzles where food is the reward.

Young kids make Moss nervous, so he'd prefer an adult-only home if you don't mind.

Meet Petey! Petey is a 2-year-old male chihuahua/terrier mix who has had a rough go at things. He was found tethered to a bush without water or shelter all day and only brought in at night. He’s a little nervous but is finally warming up to the loving hands he’s found during his stay at Laurel Pet Resort. He does well with other dogs and cats, but no small children. He needs a patient foster who will give him the time to trust and let his personality shine. He keeps his kennel clean most days but sometimes has a potty accident. He deserves a good life in a home full of love.
