The curriculum has been crafted by a growing team of permaculture educators and designers. Many components of the curriculum are projects from earlier permaculture design courses. Working with the San Francisco Permaculture Guild and the San

Francisco Urban Agriculture Alliance, we have been able to connect many of the projects throughout the city. The philosophy behind Urban Permaculture is one of working with, rather than against, nature; of protracted and thoughtful observation rather than protracted and thoughtless action; of looking at systems in all their functions, rather than asking only one yield of them; and allowing systems to demonstrate their own evolutions.
