Sorry for the late post this week. We were gone to State Fair with our girls showing beef. A big thank you to everyone from Jackson County for participating in our First Annual Overall Carcass Show. The judge is in the house everyone got a couple more county’s judged today for The First Annual Overall Carcass Show held at the old Cataract Elementary School and put on by Brock’s Butcher Block…. Here we go, everyone. Your Judge Max Hart came and judged the first fair slaughter of the season, the Elroy fair for Brock’s Butcher Block Overall Carcass Show… Reminder on how we are doing this: Judge Max Hart will come and Judge carcasses after every fair slaughter between now and September 11. In order to be in this carcass show, your beef, hog, lamb, or goat must have some kinda of fair identification ear tag in order to be in this carcass show and also must be butchered and processed at Brock’s Butcher Block…. Max Hart will hold the results tell the event on September 11, 2024, at the Old Cataract Elementary, where Brock Craig, owner of Brock’s Butcher Block, and Judge Max Hart will then reveal your Grand Champion, Reserve Champion, 3rd Overall, 4th Overall and 5th Overall Carcasses in the Beef, Hog, Lamb and Goat carcass competition…. There will be a meal the night of the event along with an educational session at Brock’s Butcher Block and The Old Cataract Elementary School and there will 20 breeders that sponsored this event to go over anything you may have for questions or if interested in possibly purchasing an animal from them this coming show season or if possible buying feed from them or any questions on genetics or nutrition the list goes on and on they are where these projects start so they are a great tool to use to make your future projects even better…. I’ll list the sponsors below in the comments please be sure to look them up and fallow there pages…

So last thing, save the date in your calendar, and if you plan on coming, please RSVP on the event we have on our page, PM us, or call 608-487-2774 so we can get a good idea of how much food to make…. We are excited to announce the first Annual Brock’s Butcher Block Overall Carcass Show and even more excited to have Max Hart be our official judge. A big thank you goes out to Max from Brock’s Butcher Block….

So I apologize in advance for the short notice and also maybe a lengthy post…. So, I’ll start with details on how we plan to run the show. For starters, to be in the show, your animal needs to be butchered and processed at Brock’s Butcher Block. Second, your animal has to have some kind of fair identification on it…. We plan on judging all the local county fair animals and Wisconsin and Minnesota state fair animals…. Brocks Butcher Block is paying the Grand, Reserve, 3rd, 4th, and 5th cash prizes over all carcasses…. Each will also get a banner that our local breeders sponsor, where most of these projects get their start from. Brock’s Butcher Block and I want to thank all of our sponsors….
