A short little winter wonderland ride today accompanied with bringing home an unexpected treasure due to being in the right place at the right time. We came across a group of three bucks, I rode Tonka directly at the big buck to move him and he backed away and immediately started fighting a smaller one and within seconds of their antlers colliding, the smaller buck's antlers simultaneously flew off his head and landed in the snow... of course I had to dismount and bring them home for Boone! Fun, extremely dirty little project that has been on my list for several years now… cutting out the sun-baked plastic and framing in the skylights to minimize further tearing. I couldn’t get this project completed without Jourdan; she’s always got my next screw ready and isn’t scared of being 16 feet in the air on ground that’s not exactly level.

August 2023 will be 10 years at Aspenwood doing what I love; never in 10 years have I had a horse do this… she has a full winter coat, it was a blazing 58 degrees today and she decided she was going to cool off by going for a swim.

Two things: (1) I have installed a tie ring for bathing purposes and to demarcate where we would prefer any bathing activities to take place so all the runoff water doesn’t go directly toward our house. (2) There is a new “curtain” obstacle for your enjoyment. Happy Spring!
