IT'S WILDLIFE WEDNESDAY 🦜🐀🦔🐢🐍
We had a new visitor to our clinic this week!
Can anyone guess the identity of this lovely little critter??
This week we had the pleasure of looking after Princess who came in for some major dental work!
🦷️ Whilst Princess was under a general anesthetic Dr Hugo was able to do a thorough examination on her mouth and full dental radiographs
🦷️Dental radiographs help evaluate the health of your pet’s teeth by identifying problems not seen by the naked eye.
🦷️He found she had 'Feline Resorptive Lesions' which is a painful condition where holes or erosions form on the surface of the teeth (found mainly in cats)
🦷️Princess had several teeth extracted and is now feeling much better and is on a speedy road to recovery!!!
🦷️If you are noticing your cat scratching at their mouth or no longer eating as much please call our friendly team to book in a free dental assessment!!
Meet Snickers, Dr Sam’s dog. He’s an older gentleman and over the last 18 months has been showing signs of canine cognitive dysfunction (or Doggy Dementia!).
Dr. Sam has trialled an array of treatments but has found, a prescription diet paired with an Adaptil collar and LOTS of mental stimulation suits snickers best. This snippet features his mind at work as he works for his dinner using his treat dispensing toys.
If you’re concerned that your pet is starting to show signs of cognitive decline, Dr Sam is eager to have a chat to figure out what might be going on and the best way to help them.
Seeing as we are on the topic of ageing pets - call us on 3890 4533 to take advantage of our senior promo this month!
Have you been following "Eva's" knee story with us?
She had her final check up with Dr Sam last week. She was so pleased with "Eva's" healing, flexibility and mobility after her recent knee surgery, that she has given her a medical release to return to her normal "walkies" routine.
This is always an exciting milestone after longterm restriction necessary after joint surgery.
Dr Sam also made some recommendations, such as ramps with the view to protecting her joints longterm and keep her free from future injury.
If you see "Eva" at the park, be sure to give her a "high-5" for being a pawsome patient.

Minimising Your Pet's Stress this New Year's Eve.
Pets, in general, are not big fans of the Silly Season.
All the additional stimulation from visitors and activities can be very stressful. Then NYE comes along, and there are literally missiles and rockets flying from the sky at them, making strange and loud noises.
We have put together a small list of ways to keep your animals happy(ish) and safe on New Year’s Eve. 🎆🎇🎆

✨Poor Karma came into the clinic today after climbing a fence and injuring her feet! She had to have all 4 feet bandaged and she wasn’t too sure how to walk after! It was quite amusing watching her work it out 😂🥰✨
