Got this beautiful dugite (Pseudonaja affinis) this afternoon from a backyard in Butler. It had very obviously been sunning itself for a while, considering how warm it was to the touch, and how fast it tried to get away from me.

Went and relocated this little skink from a ladies backyard in Wanneroo, she is petrified of snakes and saw it wriggling around and called me in terror. After finding out it was a lizard and not a snake, she was more than happy to have it relocated to her front yard so the dog couldnt get to it.

Went out for this beautiful gwardar (aka western brown snake) the other day but it had dissapeared into a rock wall consisting of 200 tonne of rocks and 60 truck tired just before i rocked up. Got another call the next day bit was in perth and then got another call yesterday, went out and managed to get this feisty noodle after a bit of a fight in the rock wall. Released away from houses so this guy can keep on living and creating more beautiful gwardars.

First bobby of the season found in the yard.
Last year we were getting one every 2/3 days. However I haven’t seen this one around before. Angry bobby with a lip partially missing but healed up released outside of the gate. To go on another day.
He swung back at me because I was trying to get him to move along. Feisty little guy stay out of the yard before the kids try to pick you up.

With the weather warming up scaley critters are coming out.
I saw a bobby walking across the road the other day and thought it was going to be a good day.
Have you got a snake bandage?
They are available at the chemist for under 12 bucks.
The pattern down the middle turn into squares when they have enough pressure. Always remember if you are bitten by a snake call 000, try to keep calm, apply the bandage and try to keep as still as possible. DO NOT try to catch the snake.

With the cold setting in our scaley friends are finding somewhere warm to bunker down.
Woodsheds and burn piles are good places to hide from the cold.
Just beware that somethings other then wood and garden waste can be in there.

Beautiful carpet python (Morelia spilota imbricata) relocated from a lovely couples chook pen in toodyay. They werent scare of the snake and knew she posed no risk to them, they were just worried about the snakes safety as they have 2 dogs who wanted to play. The snake has been relocated down by the river, not too far from the house she was found at.

So its time again that we ask for some help.
A close friend of ours has fallen on hard times when her husband was unexpectedly taken to the hospital. He is now unable to return to work for atleast a month. With Christmas fast approaching we ask for a donation for them to help get them through this time. Donations don't have to be big or fancy just a few dollars would be so appreciated to help them out, we will all be so greatful.

Scientific name: Varanus tristis
Common names: Black headed monitor/Black tailed monitor

Went to a couples house in toodyay last week some time for a single tristis monitor in their roof, went up and had a look and found these 2 tristis laying on top of each other, grabbed them both in one attempt and released them by the river just around the corner from the house

Not reptile related but i had this tawny frog mouth spend the night at my house and taken to the vet this morning. Vet has noticed a crack in its beak and asked me to take it to Marsupial Mammas and Pappas Wildlife Care where it will get the care it needs until its ready for me to collect and release back where it came from.

Just a reminder while the weather is cooling down please be aware near your wood sheds and areas you don't tend to use during the summer someone might just be bunkered down trying to get out of the cold. We are still around if you do find anything you don't want around over this cooler time.

So we went for a hike today. Saw a sign saying snake but couldn't find any snake, also had a tristis run past us. Went to say hello but he didn't want to be friends today.

This time of year there is always alot of babies around. Some have feathers others have scales or even fur. We wouldn't have it any other way but.
Don't forget were always around if you find something in need. From reptile relocations to babies that need to be fed we are always happy to help.

Beautiful gwardar aka western brown snake, (Pseudonaja mengdeni) that i moved off the road this afternoon. Highly venomous. Dont copy the actions in these photos without propper training.

Fun fact, the name gwardar, means 'go the long way around' in an Aboriginal language, not sure which one though.
