Rest in Peace Oscar.
Welcome 6 month old baby Border Collie: Bonnie to our rescue! Bonnie is a sweet, funny, playful girl who hasnt seen much of the world and is a typical happy go lucky pup. She has gone to a beautiful foster mother who is going to start training and socialising her so she becomes a well rounded pup for her new family. Thankyou to Kylie from who assisted in rehoming Bonnie to our rescue.
Can you spare any old blankets or dog beds for our foster bubs? Just $2 buys a felt small blanket for our wee ones, $10 buys a large faux fleece blanket and $25 buys a comfy bed from Kmart. If you feel you are able to donate any used/new items or would like to make a financial donation towards new bedding, our drop-off point is in Mt Hawthorn and our rescue bank details are below.

Sweetie Snowy is settling in well to his new loving home with his brother Taffy! Congratulations to his new family, you have yourself two beautiful dogs here!
The most deserving senior beauty Charlie has found his forever home! Congratulations and our team to get Charlie to this point from his horrible intake condition. Mentally, medically and physically.❤️ Absolutely beautiful, funny, grumpy and perfect boy!
Emily getting Snowy all ready to go to his new home tomorrow! Such a good boy for his hydrobath. His skin is much less inflamed than when we first took him into our rescue. One very lucky family.❤️
Charlie is still without a home😔 Please, please share, this boy is so deserving of a forever family. His profile is available below: https://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/1021585
Sweetheart Charlie visiting today, loved a little playdate with our chihuahua’s. Such a funny little man, he’s come such a long way thanks to his foster mother
Plumette’s on Rule and Etiquette Patrol! So how do our Meet & Greets work?
If you are called by our lovely coordinator to come and meet one of our rescues, it does not automatically mean you have been guaranteed an adoption. A Meet and Greet, is a 15-30 minute time period in which you are able to learn about the dog, their behaviour, vet records, history and even have a play!
We do not do ‘trials’ of dogs, as we always describe our rescue animals accurately and you have full access to their vet reports and behavioural history whilst in our care.
Once you have had a Meet & Greet with one of our dogs, we then ask you to have a family discussion if applicable and sleep on your decision to adopt. Dog’s are expensive, and we don’t want our dogs moved around, they have been through enough in their lives. Please consider their financial responsibility and your lifestyle.
If you are happy with your Meet & Greet, please contact us within 24hrs to confirm you would like to adopt. We will then confirm if you are suitable, based on your meet, house check and paperwork.
The final stage is to organise a time collect your new fur baby and welcome him or her into your life!
A little note about etiquette. We do ask that prospective adoptees do not overstay their welcome whilst on their Meet & Greets, please do not stay for hours, please do not ask to ‘trial’ our rescue dogs and please do not ask overly personal questions about our carers. These behaviours all take time away from us, doing what we should be doing; rescuing animals and running our rescue safely and responsibly. Thankyou, Team MSPR.
HE HAS BEEN SAVED!!!🎉 Thank-You to the overwhelming support for this old man. Another rescue has just saved him this morning, after speaking to the rangers. Thankyou everyone for sharing, emailing and messaging, this boy will have a chance at life and receive medical care. ❤️
Update- Saved. No senior dog should die in a pound! Can any Perth Rescue take this old boy in to a warm foster home??🙏🏻 He is a nice old brindle staffy male, emaciated, un-sterilised. He does not deserve to die this way. Please DM if you know a rescue who can help.
Firstly Thank-You to everyone who applied for Snowy, we’ve had some lovely applicants come forward for this little man.
He is now on hold, pending-meet and greets.
If you apply for another one of our dogs in the future please mention you have already applied with us, as there is no need to fill out another application, we already have it on file.
Thank-You again for all your support, and kindness towards helping one of our rescues.
Team MSPR.
Snowy is officially now available for adoption!🎉 His profile below:

Who else make’s forts for the animals when they’re scared from the rain?!😂 Our rescue boy Fabio loves it! On a serious note, we are now heading into winter and rain or stormy weather can cause severe fear triggers in dogs and animals, especially rescue dogs who may have ptsd from previously living in the elements. There are ‘thunder jackets’ that you can buy and adaptil infusers from your vet to lessen your pets stress response. Classical music is also clinically proven to reduce stress. Also be wary of new pets to your home, as they can bolt in fear. Now’s a great time to ensure your property is adequately fenced, gates are repaired ect.
Let’s get little old Charlie an amazing forever home! This little man has been patiently waiting far too long. Please share, you can read his bio below.

Through absolutely no fault of his own! Little Charlie is now available again for adoption!
Charlie is a funny character! Think of Mr. Magoo! He is a 12-14 yr old ‘ish’ little man with a grade 4 heart murmur and arthritis. He loves to cuddle with his mom, watch movies and potter in the garden.
He is best suited to a quiet home where the environment doesn’t change as he can give a warning growl and snap- even though he has few teeth!
He loves the car and to be carried around like a little king, and is better suited to a female owner.
Charlie is one of the most character filled dogs we have ever had at the rescue! Even though he has had a tough life previously, with love and medication, he feels alot better and is trusting more on a daily basis. He sleeps in the most oddest positions😂 and will wake you up with morning zoomies!
Charlie is not overly keen on busy environments and prefers the calm and quiet of an adult household. Charlie’s one of those special fellows who is initially a bit unsure with new people but becomes affectionate once he gets to know and trust you. He is fabulous in the car and is learning to trust people again, whilst being in a very loving foster home.
Charlie is good with other little dogs, but is a bit frightened of large or boisterous dogs. He currently lives with another little female terrier he likes to play with.
So, if you’re a retired woman or couple seeking a sweet furry friend who will provide a world of companionship, Charlie might just be that special dog you’ve been looking for. His trust might take a little while to gain, but rest assured, it’s certainly worth the wait for this funny, sweet old man. Please fill out an online adoption form on our website if you are interested in adopting this little man.
Little Oscar had his first professional training session, covered by our rescue to make sure he has lovely manners and learns good boundaries. He has come leaps and bounds since we first got this little fear aggressive boy. Well done fosters, our trainer and our little team!
Welcome Snowy! The perfect family boy. Estimated to be aged about 4-5 years old by our vets, he previously had a male owner and loves not only men but everyone he meets! He is great with other dogs, lovely with kids and the elderly. Today he is undergoing sterilisation surgery. He will need a dental surgery in the near future, which will be the responsibility of the new owners, whom will have to sign a health waiver to ensure the procedure is done. Snowy’s adoption fee is $650, and will be available in the next few weeks once he has recovered from his surgery, and gets a lovely pamper session ofcourse🛁as he’s a bit disheveled currently.
Our sweet Daffy has been put to sleep this afternoon, while I kissed and held her little head. 🙏🏻 More about her condition later, I’d like to use this post to say how remarkable, funny and loving she was whilst I was fostering her for just a few days, when her condition worsened and she needed round the clock care. This girl had made little steps of recovery and was starting to wag her tail more and more, she even had a pre- meet and greet just tomorrow with a beautiful lady. But it wasn’t meant to be. Daffy, rest well in heaven, you’re in no more pain, you have no breathing difficulties! Daffy was the sweetest little girl, who bonded to me very quickly, an extremely hard goodbye but we can rest in comfort knowing she had a loving end with us, rather than a pound. She was loved and wanted.
Happy Mothers Day!🌷🌷🌷Our little Poppins came to our family from She came from a rural community and when we picked her up, her puppies were nearly bigger than she was! She was a fabulous mother to her puppies and we are so lucky to be her mother now!
It’s unfortunate we have to even write this post in this day and age, but our rescue has had a few cases now where our staff members or foster-carer volunteers have been bullied, threatened and abused due to a member of the public not being suitable and or rejected for an adoption. Or if a dog has to come back to us due to the trial owner not being suitable or able to look after one of our rescues as they promised they would.
We have received threatening text- messages, calls and one of our beautiful foster- carers was even asked last night to drive an hour away, to pick up a special needs dog of ours immediately, which she did (being a kind and loving person), to ensure nothing untoward happened to him.
This behaviour is UNACCEPTABLE and will not be tolerated.
In these instances we report these people to both the RSPCA, Rangers and Police if necessary.
We are a little rescue who have lovely staff and volunteer carers, and we absolutely love to help seniors, families and special needs people find their companion dogs, as we know how important a dog can be for ones health and happiness.
We have gifted dogs with love to so many deserving owners and have not asked anything in return. We donate to other rescues when possible and we provide everything from bedding, toys and food at no cost to adoptees and foster carers. Few, if any rescues do this.
But just a caution, please do not take our kindess for granted, we work so hard to rehabilitate dogs, and to abuse or threaten us even in minor instances, will be taken extremely seriously.
Thankyou team.
UPDATE- Thankyou everyone, if he is not claimed, a local rescue with over 20yrs experience will take him on🙏🏻☺️☺️☺️Thankyou everyone for sharing and emailing.🙏🏻💕
Welcome little Daffy (Daffodil), to our rescue! Daffy is a sweet, timid, anxious 10yr old girl who has come to our rescue needing an obvious dental operation and sterilisation. She is currently not available for adoption, as she is reserved for a meet and greet with one of our waitlist members. She needs to loose a few kilos and currently weighs in at 7kgs, and should weigh approximately 4.5-5kgs. On the way to recovery sweet girl!
Plumette😫 teaching Oscar (who is currently in his trial home❤️), how to be a ‘dog,’ after he escaped through our front gate! Little Oscar is such a good boy he came right back, and is now socialising very nicely after his stay as Casa ‘s, with her little pack. His little tail wag and non chalant behaviour, is very promising!🙏🏻❤️❤️
Look at this little chicken baby! Oscar has come along way! Photo by his foster mumma!
Oscar is ready for his new home! Could that be your family?!
Let’s talk about Oscar! Brimming with energy and warmth, this funny and happy 3 yr old, little canine never fails to bring a smile to anyone’s face. Oscar has shown an excellent ability to adapt, transitioning from a dog that had never experienced the comfort of a home to an absolute delight of a house pup.
He’s a lovable teddy bear (at times!) who loves to cuddle, but truly comes alive in the midst of fun and adventure. Oscar’s transformation has been nothing short of remarkable thanks to his beautiful foster carer, and he’s ready to thrive in a loving home. Oscar is sociable and has no problems getting along with other dogs. He’s also perfectly fine with cats.
In addition to his loving nature, Oscar can bring a lot of excitement to your life. Preferring an active lifestyle, he greatly benefits from consistent training and daily long walks—these activities not only help him stay happy and healthy but also nurture his remarkable mind and cheerful personality.
Oscar is an ideal companion for a family, preferably with older kids who can keep up with his high energy levels. His charismatic demeanor and jovial spirit are infectious, and he’s always ready to welcome you home with a wagging tail and a heart full of love.
Ready to embark on adventures and partake in hilarious antics, Oscar is eagerly awaiting the chance to meet his future family. He’s a bundle of joy packed with lots of love to give, and he’s hoping to find a home as lovable and cuddly as he is! Visit our website and fill out an adoption form to apply for this little boy! Little Teddy, straight after his sterilisation, dental operation and professional groom whilst under sedation. Thankyou to @mbf.vet.centre Teddy is recovering well, his foster mother Leah and family have been absolute angels in his recovery period. #teddysstory He’s been recovering for nearly three days now and is becoming a very happy little bean. The shaking and coughing in this video is a normal response after anesthetic.
Meet Tubby, a charming and lovable Border Collie cross Kelpie, whose personality is as captivating as his good looks. With his expressive eyes, he has an endearing way of making those around him feel special. Tubby particularly bonds well with those he considers to be ‘his people’. Despite initial shyness with some men, every day sees him growing more comfortable and open, making more and more progress to overcoming this minor hitch. In terms of his home environment, Tubby appreciates a tranquil setting, ideally in a semi-rural area. He prefers not to be left alone outside and enjoys the comfort of a warm home teeming with affectionate humans. Once he has bonded with his owner, prepare for endless sessions of tummy rubs and wholesome cuddles. Not to mention that Tubby is a hilarious fur companion which guarantees countless fun and laughter-filled days. When it comes to other animals, Tubby is absolutely fine. He peacefully ignores cats, and even kangaroos on hikes don’t trigger a hint of ‘chase instinct’. In fact, he loves hikes and bushwalks, happily trotting along on your outdoor adventures. Additionally, he’s just as content curling up next to you on the couch for a quiet evening. As with most Border Collies, Tubby thrives on being active. For this active boy, nothing is more fun than a hike in the great outdoors or playing around in water. Yet, he also enjoys the simple pleasure of nestling in bed with his foster mother. His adaptability also extends to car rides where he’s a delightful passenger. The ideal family for Tubby is one that understands the breed’s need for a little bit of activity and plenty of affection. As such, an active couple or family who can provide him with love, patience, and understanding will be rewarded with a loyal, fun-loving, and incredibly loyal companion. Special thanks to @ameliagow who took and rehabilitated Tubby last minute, she has done incredible work with him to make him feel more confident after he was le
Harry and Missy have been adopted to a couple who are extremely knowledgeable in dog behaviour and have retrained Harry and continue to work on the pairs anxiety, which has greatly diminished. Harry and Missy’s previous owner was sadly put into care due to the awful disease that is dementia.🙏🏻They are now having the time of their life with bush walks, socialisation at dog parks and living it up in their beautiful new home! Congratulations to their new owners. We will update you on their transformation, when they are groomed. #bondedpair
Welcome to @marcosmallpetrescueaustralia smoochy angel boy: Chestnut! Chestnut is a darling little boy, who will have all his veterinary work done in January when our vet clinic reopens. He is a Cairn Terrier cross, and loves kisses, cuddles and attention. He is currently on trial with his prospective new senior owner who has had terriers her whole life, so please no adoption enquiries yet. Your new life starts now little man❤️🙏🏻 Thankyou to Paul and Sue, our amazing team member and friends, who collected this bub just before Christmas so he could spend it with a loving family. Chestnut was found wandering in the heat, no microchip, no registration and not castrated. Please, please take care of your pets! Most of our intakes seem to have the same stories of neglect or negligence. #msprhasthebestteam!❤️ #ontrialadoption
Toto has had a C-Section and delivered two puppies. They are not stable yet and the beautiful vet nurses at @mbf.vet.centre have been initially tube feeding, now syringe feeding every 90-120 minutes. They are doing all they can to keep them alive with correct heating, fluids, sugars ect. Prenatal puppies and animals are extremely delicate. Toto has no motherly instinct to feed, so it is our only option to help them survive with human intervention. Thankyou to all the surgeons who worked on Toto and the vet nurses, especially Yana and Courtney who are doing everything they can to help them survive.🙏🏻❤️
Adopted! Maxi has the perfect quiet home that her previous owners have always knew she needed🙏🏻 Miss Maxi has just been adopted after her trial adoption period, to a beautiful family down south. Her previous family knew their faster pace lifestyle was causing a few behavioural issues for Maxi and that she would feel alot better living a quiet, serene life. It was a very difficult and emotional decision for her previous owners, and they assisted with all aspects of Maxi’s adoption to ensure she would thrive in her new home. Congratulations to both families❤️❤️ Maxi is absolutely content and loving life!
One of our worst neglect and breeding cases this year.😢 Meet Toto, Toto is only estimated to be around 6 years old, she has the most beautiful disposition and has experienced a life of neglect and abuse. She came to our rescue with her bonded mate Toby, who was so frightened to have a lead on that he soiled himself. Their cigarette/tar burns and skin conditions are continually being treated. Unfortunately Toto’s story gets worse, she is pregnant and due to give birth in the next two weeks. This will be her last pregancy! Please look at Toto as this is a beautiful girl who has been used and abused by a backyard breeder. Those cute puppies on gumtree you buy, all go to nice homes where the beautiful mothers are then rebred. It’s a sick, horrific practice. Toto will be gifted to her beautiful new mother, and she will never have to live a life of abuse again. Thankyou to @mbf.vet.centre who have taken on Toto’s and Toby’s case, and will be treating her throughout her pregancy and there after. Puppies are our worst nightmare as a rescue! It’s of our utmost importance that Toto has a complication free birth and we are doing everything we can to ensure this. Updates coming in the following days.
All animals can get along in a safe, calm and loving environment. Fabio and Harry were both rescues.
Fred was released to our rescue from the pound, where he had deformed legs and hard, scabbed over lesions on his legs from a life laying on hard concrete flooring. He has been gifted to a lovely lady called Pamela who just adores him and will keep up his arthritis and pain management plan as reccomended by our veterinarian. He is being sterilised next week. Fred is believed to be only 6 ish years old, and the severity of his condition could of been prevented and he would not have to of suffered years of pain and neglect. Fred from now on, you have an incredibly loving home, your first soft bed, and are starting to experience the finer things life has to offer like daily walks and swimming! Neglect cases like this, are horrendous and no dog or anyone for that matter should have to endure such cruelty. Pamela, truly well done for opening your heart and home to this baby boy🙏🏻
Oh Buddy! What a journey you have had with us! Writing this post is so emotional as he has been through months of skin treatments/ infections, grade 4/6 heart murmur treatment, and last week he was given the all clear for his sterilisation operation. He has been an absolute champ through it all. Thankyou to Enrica and her partner who were so vigilant with all his medications, and his other fosters who helped him progress along the way. Buddy now lives with the most amazing family! He lives on a beautiful property with Karen and her gorgeous family, and he’ll be joining them for his first holiday in the coming weeks! What a beautiful journey!🙏🏻 At nearly 12yrs old, he finally experiences a beautiful pain free, loving life🥹🙏🏻❤️
