Miniature breeds of goats come in to season every 18-21 days and can be mated anytime of the year. π
I always advise new breeders or hobby farmers to plan ahead. If you want to mate your doe/s. To allocate time for when they are due and for weather conditions. Goats' gestation is 145-155 days π
Only 3 girls left to kid this winter, and that's it for 2024! π₯°

#minigoats #nigeriandwarf #minimilkers #kidsof2023 #tnr
It all begun in July 2016, when I made a very impulsive decision to go purchase a little one week old Australian miniature wether off gumtree, who I named Diego. The black dog was present in my life, and nothing seemed to help. Who would of thought, this little kid that I had to bottle feed and spend all my time with, helped me get back on my horse (literally).
I then went on to purchase my first doe, an Australian mini who was in kid. I did my research and decided that I was going to breed miniature goats and make soap, beauty products and hopefully cheese one day from these fun, loving goats.
In my research I discovered a breed that was not present in Western Australia yet (2016). This breed was small in size and had high percentage of butterfat which is good for cheese making. This breed is the Nigerian Dwarf. From there I had my doe Artificially inseminated by a Nigerian Dwarf buck. In August 2017 one of the few Nigerian Dwarf kids in WA were born.
I have expanded my herd to eight does; Eira, Millie, Jazmin, Gretel, Indi, Asha, Roxy & Opal ( July 2018 ) and focusing on breeding Nigerian Dwarfs, Australian Miniatures, and Nuwbys. All miniature breeds, with the nigerian and nuwby being mini milkers.
Sadly last year (2017) my first goat ( Diego ) passed away in someone elses care.
R.I.P Diego and thankyou for getting me out of that dark place and giving me the ambition to start a new journey.
