Dog Grooming Mentorship Australia opened for this very reason.

This doggy was regularly groomed by a local groomer. Unfortunately the owner didn’t pre book and couldn’t get a suitable appointment the next time they called, therefore went elsewhere. Sadly, the groomer she went to was inexperienced. Now this poor doggy has huge trust issues and has now become aggressive, this is after just 1 groom with an inexperienced groomer!
Now back in the safe hands of her regular groomer who is trying to regain her trust, which can take months, years or never.

There are many sad stories like this currently in our local area due to the many new, untrained and inexperienced groomers.
Dog Grooming Mentorship Australia offers mentorship and training by Master Groomer Candidate Nic.

Please make sure you take your loved pets to trained and experienced groomers, or you may find your pet suffering from mental and physical abuse that can be irreparable.

Duties include dog washing, nail cutting, blowdrying, coat styling, coat clipping, cleaning and sterilizing of equipment.
Must be confident with towing a trailer, have car with towbar, be a good listener and be able to follow instructions.

🐾Receptionist/ Trainee Groomer 🐾 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
We are seeking a well organised and friendly individual, with basic dog grooming skills to join our team of passionate pet groomers! The position will be on a casual basis Tuesday to Saturday. You will be responsible for customer enquiries, over the phone, online and face to face. You will be required to split your time between administrative duties and grooming pets. So, training in safe grooming practices and basics is essential to be successful.

As a Receptionist/Trainee Groomer, you should have exceptional customer service, communication, and time management skills. The ability to deal with difficult customers. Strong literacy, computer, and organisational skills are essential. You should also be able to work harmoniously within a small team, meet deadlines and follow instruction well. You should also be physically fit and able to lift and confidently handle dogs (up to 35kg).

Ultimately, a top-notch Receptionist/Trainee Groomer will treat all animals, customers and staff with the care and respect. We pride ourselves on a personal touch and pay attention to the finer details of dog grooming. We love to make our clients feel confident and safe leaving their fur babies with us.

The Grooming industry is unregulated which has now uneducated and untrained people opening grooming businesses. I have seen horrible injuries, damage to dogs mental health, basic procedures not being followed, groomers not picking up on health concerns, dogs that don’t get dried properly and go home wet, matted coats being left in that condition as the groomer just trimmed the ends of the coat. This is from mostly new groomers who have decided to open up a grooming business with no training or experience. THIS IS WHAT I AM AIMING TO CHANGE.
