We are very proud to support North Shore Dog Rescue, the Sydney arm of Dog Rescue Newcastle.
We have been working closely together for a while to support them in every way we can and recently we were able to give a donation of lovely food. We hope they continue to go from strength to strength with all the good work they are doing rehoming dogs, and look forward to continuing to work together with them! ๐Ÿพโค๏ธ๐Ÿถ

Unfortunately as the weather warms up each year, we commonly see an increase in the number of lost dogs in our local community ๐Ÿพ
Here are our top tips to prevent your pup getting lost this summer!

๐Ÿ”’Pet Proof Your Garden- check locks/latches are working properly and patch/fill any holes in or under your fence
๐ŸถMake Your Pet Identifiable- microchip your pet/update microchip details and have an ID tag on your pups collar with your phone number (you can also attach an air tag to their collar for added safety)
โ›ˆManage Stressors- keep an eye out for thunderstorms/fireworks and create a safe contained space for your pup to ride out these potentially scary times
๐Ÿฆบ Visitors/Tradies/Parties- remind visitors to shut doors/gates, supervise your pup when guests are around and provide your pup a safe space to escape if they need
๐ŸฉบNeuter/Spey- intact animals may be at more risk for wandering due to hormonal urges to roam in search of a mate

Spring has sprung and so has allergy season ๐ŸŒธโ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒฑ
Animals most often show environmental allergies through their skin and not their sinuses like we do. If you notice your pet licking, biting or itching their skin/paws/ears this may mean your pet is affected by allergies. ๐Ÿพ
Itchy skin from seasonal allergies can often lead to the "itchy skin cycle", where itching leads to scratching which leads to more itching and so on! But we are here to help!
Talk to us today about treatment options that can provide quick relief without nasty side-effects, and how we may be able to find the source of your pets itch to stop the cycle in its tracks. To book an appointment call us on (02) 9489 4805 and our friendly team will be more than happy to help.

Early signs of spring are in the air. Weโ€™ve had a busy week at Fox Valley animal Hospital. One of the many lovely stories from this week is this beautiful kookaburra that was brought in by two kind ladies as it had been left on the side of the road after being hit by a car.
We gave it some treatment and after some rest and recuperation we were able to release it and it flew away beautifully as if nothing had happened! A wonderful end to our week ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿชถ
Wishing everyone a great weekend!

How cute is this beautiful girl in her Buster Body Suit! ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’•

This adorable body suit is an alternative to the commonly used Elizabethan Collar (aka the cone). Body suits can be a great solution for patients recovering from surgery/minor injuries or that may have tender areas caused by excessive licking, biting or chewing who will either not tolerate or are unable to use an E-Collar. ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿพ
