Here at BHAH, we are so lucky to have such a lovely, dedicated, hard working team of nurses. We are always blown away with the energy that our nurses bring; even after a day of bites, scratches, missed lunch breaks and over-time, our nurses still end the day with a smile. They love all the patients like their own and that is something that is irreplaceable.

These 3 sweet babies came into our clinic in critical condition 🥺💔

Luckily, we quickly got into contact with our friends at and they jumped into action to find these sweet souls foster carers!

Kitten season is around the corner and most rescues are at capacity which means you should help by following our 3 step process:
🐾 If you can’t adopt, foster!
🐾 If you can’t foster, donate!
🐾 If you can’t donate, share/repost the rescue’s posts on your social media 😻

As we all know, oyster shells are extremely sharp! This unfortunately can cause injury to our dogs very delicate paws 🤕🐾

🤔 how can I avoid these risks you may ask? Below are some tips on how we can protect our babies:

🐾 bring your dog to sandy beaches
🐾 avoid beaches with lots of rocks
🐾 dog shoes! Yes you heard that right, shoes for dogs are a thing. There is water specific ones so your pup will be able to swim in them

If your dog does get cut by one, make sure to keep the area clean and ensure your dog does not lick the wound. Call your local vet to get advice on what you will need to do next 🚑🚨❤️‍🩹
