PARALYSIS TICKS!
Spring has sprung and that means we are seeing ticks around more often. Please be aware you do not need to leave Sydney to find these critters, we treated a dog this week with life threatening symptoms who has only visited centennial park.
PLEASE use the appropriate monthly or three monthly prevention or call the clinic for advice on 9314 5112
Have you met a more funny/weird/special cat? Meet buzz our workplacement Belinda’s hilarious cat. When you tickle this one spot above his tail he can’t hold it in! Boy do we love buzz 😂
Today we met Harley, by far one of the smartest dogs we’ve seen. He is a gorgeous border collie X springer spaniel who knows many tricks thanks to his dedicated owner! Here he is playing dead!
Cheeky simba is only allowed one type of wet food as everything else causes her to become constipated and blocked up. As you can tell simba still tries her hardest to get her little paws on whatever she can!
Dr Jason's hilarious cat Cuba while we tried to clean his cage 😄 He loves all the attention!
This gorgeous fella was brought in today. Luckily he was completely fine and was released tonight! We are so happy to see him fly away ❤
A member of the public brought in a little baby bird this morning. From the way it wobbles its head, we've determined that it is a Fig Bird. We hope to return it to where it came from in the hopes that it can be reunited with its mom.
During Summer, we get a massive influx of birds brought in to us.
The BEST thing you can do to help a baby bird is to see if you can locate where its mother is and which tree it has fallen out off. If you have the time, do have a read of the link below to see what you can do to help a baby bird or an injured bird.
We had a patient in recently (who shall remain nameless!) that was very naughty & chewed up & swallowed a tennis ball. His parents were sure they hadn't seen him pass it or bring it back up. He was not uncomfortable at all in the abdomen - meaning it was probably located in his stomach. An ultrasound confirmed our suspicions & we booked him in for an endoscope to try to retrieve it, after about half an hour of trying this happened..............
Little Bobbie and Storm stay at Nurse Sophia's house every night so they don't end up spending nights in a quiet hospital. Here's little Bobbie crying because she was impatient to come out from her cat flat to play after dinner!
And here's a video of Storm and Bobbie playing together!
