Box Divvy’s version of The Soup Pack

The eastern seaboard continues to suffer from a cold snap, so: bring out the soup. And to help you get started, we’re putting together a Soup Pack.

There are plenty of Soup Packs around, but none of them are particularly generous. Take the Coles version: 1 potato, 1 onion, 1 carrot, 1 parsnip, 1 turnip and 1 celery stick – barely 1 kilo of hard vegetables to make stock, priced at $4.90.

The Box Divvy version weighs at least 1.5kg, and costs $4.76. Weight for weight, that’s 35% cheaper than the Coles version.

You’ll find them in Vegetables ➡️ Other

They say that '𝑨 𝑷𝒊𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝑷𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒂 𝑻𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒔' and going by this update from the Kabul Star Bakery, you can't help but feel all sorts of emotions to see and hear that our Box Divvy community is having such a positive impact on Asad's business 🫶

You can see here that Asad has been busy remodeling his bakery to increase its capacity and he is now ready for some big orders!

If you haven't yet tried the Afghan bread you really must. It is described as a hybrid between Turkish bread and Indian naan, but this description does not do it justice.

It is soft, somewhat fluffy, definitely rustic, moreish, incredibly versatile, and despite the simple ingredients (wheat flour, wholemeal flour, salt, yeast, water) they seem to stay fresh for 3-4 days. You can crisp them up in the oven, heat them in the microwave for a softer result, or even toast them.

You’ll find them under Bakery ➡️ Bread ➡️ Wraps & Flatbread. Two loaves per pack for a combined weight of around 760g for a low price of $4.58.

Baked and delivered fresh daily!

👨🏻‍🌾🍐Support Aussie Pears:🍐👨🏻‍🌾
As Woolies own brand switches to imported fruit from China and South Africa, and SPC cuts orders by 40%, pear growers will have to decide whether to prune trees or remove them. It's a good time to support locally grown with a fair return for growers on produce

This looks SO yum!! Can't wait to order mine next week when its back in stock!!! Bring on the extra baker!

*Kabul Star Bakery Afghan Bread taking a 1-week break*

Little did we know there would be so many orders for Asad's Afghan bread – bigger even than the Lebanese bread!
In the end, on most days he was able to fill about two-third of our orders. Our hub was grateful to receive our full allocation on both days.

However, Asad is going to have to pause for a week: he needs a few days to re-organise the bakery so he can accommodate a second baker to ensure he can fill all our orders.

So he will be back – but it’ll be the week after next (first delivery 15th July).

In the meantime, please share how you are using/serving yours!
I'll post some ideas that other hubs have shared in the comments.

Gonna try this next week. It looks amazing!

😲 Look at all of the new Kabul Star Bakery Afghan bread ordered in my Tuesday Hub yesterday!

📏 Each loaf is whopping 70cm long and you get TWO of them for $4.58! Talk about excellent value.

😍I tried some warmed in the microwave and smothered with butter & Vegemite

👦 My lad made their own toasted ham, cheese, tomato for school lunch

👧 My lass had smashed avocado and maple bacon on it for breaky

🍽️ I’ve made a Butter Chicken for dinner tonight and plant to grill some bread in my skillet to accompany.

😆 I highly doubt they'll be any left to go with the Monjay Mezza dips and Falafels I have ordered for Saturday delivery

🤭 Better just order again next week!

Trim it. Wrap it in plastic. And nearly triple the price. Yeah. That'll work. Shame on you, greedy. I was going to hashtag this friday funny but it really isn't, is it?
