Sadly we have to cancel the planned Temperment Test, the evaluators required 25 dogs and we didn’t meet that goal. Those who registered will receive an email about their refund. There is a test in October, in the K-W area for those willing to drive, details available on the page for the Greater MidOntario Doberman Fanciers

08/24/2024

Why take your dog through the Temperment Test?
Tests shows Dog's natural reaction to various stimuli , that increase in intensity as test progresses. It is pass or fail. Assess your results, and use them to better understand your dog.

If it is a companion dog, you will know his strengths and weaknesses. You can help him enjoy the things he likes doing, and you can avoid the unpleasant situations that he can't cope with that stress him out.
If it is a dog used in a breeding program, assess the weaknesses ( if any detected) , consider them as faults and breed to produce a better dog both mentally and physically.
If there are many serious major weaknesses, maybe the dog should not be used in a breeding program at all. You would be doing the breed a disservice. If the dog/bitch has sound temperament, it is a great asset to a breeding program.

Use the TT initials behind your dog's name. It is a title he has earned! Everyone knows what it means. It is another accomplishment to be proud of.

A message from the show photographer Anne Raszewski

Barrie and Grey Bruce clients. Long story short - the power cord/adaptor for my laptop got damaged while I was between the shows. I think "keeping fingers crossed" I have it resolved. I am a bit behind on orders but I am up and working now and will have everything out as quickly as all humanly possible. I promise I am not ignoring your e-mails. Thank you for your patience.

Now that the dust has landed and I’ve had time to breath from last weekend show, I have a few things to say.

Putting on a dog show is not easy at all. It starts again once that one has ended. Especially when you have things go wrong at the last minute. The judges hotel, the event and tent permits. The food vendor just up and leaving without notice. You wake up Monday morning to a wet bed and think you’ve peed the bed. Yes you can all laugh 🤣 To find out your trailer is leaking. Then you get out to start Monday morning and find the rings are flooded and there is no way to hold them under the tent. To the show starting 8 and at 7:29 we got permission to hold the show in horse barn 1. And in a half hour we had 3 rings set up, the secretary table and the judges table to have lunch and started the show only ten minutes late. But we pulled it off.

Since 2019 we have had to move the show 4 different places. Hopefully this is our last move and we have found a permanent place to call home and hang our hats.

First I want to thank you the exhibitor who come back year after year. With out you and your fabulous dogs there would be no show.

To the club volunteers who come out early Friday morning to help set up and those that stay Monday after the show is done and every one in between during the show. I thank you for helping my job go a little easier.

To our main sponsor Innisfil Creek Honey company for donating our money prizes.

To the ladies on the executive, Julia Maguire, Kristy Parmenter, Laura Middleton, Angela Scott to whom I owe my sanity too when I get last minute calls or no calls at all that something has gone wrong there are no words but to say thank you. You are like the sisters I never had. 🩷

To my daughter Jenn who stays home with the dogs so I can do this sport I love so much. ❤️

To Kim Leblanc who is my second biggest rock and keeps me grounded when the hotel calls less then a week before the show and says I’m sorry but we have to cancel your rooms as there’s been a fire in the hotel. Panic time. 💕

To my biggest rock and my partner in crime, my husband Peter. For those of you who don’t know him he loves the dogs but hates the shows. But for 1 weekend every year he comes and does the camping working from Friday at 9am til 9:30pm on Monday when we finally got home. And has done this ever year since I became a member of the club. Not many men would do this for their wife and especially when the show falls on your anniversary ever year. Thank you hun from the bottom of my heart. ♥️

It takes many to put on a show and I hope I was able to thank all that helped. If I have forgotten to say thanks I am truly sorry but I noticed all your hard work and appreciated it ❤️

Now we start working on next year show to make it better this then year.

Again thank you all for supporting the club and I hope to see more of you next year there. ❤️

Show chair,

Carol 'Bedford' Brech
