Yesterday night there was a devastating fire at Prestwick Villas condominium in McKenzie Towne.
For anyone willing to help affected families, here are some ways we can do it:
- Emergency toiletries, towels and face cloths
- Clothing, socks and underwear
- Buy them organizational binders to keep their notes, to do lists and receipts for insurance purposes
- Run some errands for them
- Offer to go and help sort through their place to help gather anything not destroyed (if they are allowed back in, that is).
- Gather household items to help them
- Pet supplies (for those with pets)
- Kids clothes and toys
- Bedding, pillows and blankets (must be freshly laundered)
- Offer to help with laundry
- Offer to help with childcare
- Purchase gift cards to places like Walmart, Safeway, Superstore or Sobeys
- Make some meals or food boxes
