Dr. Laura Lee and the staff at Acres Animal Hospital will be taking some time off to recharge. We will be back on Feb. 22, revitalized and ready to care for our patients.

COVID-19 Update

March 20, 2020

We hope everyone is safe and healthy at this time.

Acres Animal Hospital will be open for reduced hours next week March. 23-27 from 12 noon to 6pm. We will be closed for two weeks starting on Monday, March 30 to Friday April 10. The Metro Animal Emergency Clinic will be open for emergencies during this time. Please call 902-468-0674 to arrange to be seen. You will also be able to reach us by email or by leaving a telephone message on our voicemail. Email and voicemail will be checked one to two times per day. Please contact us between March 23 to 27 for medication refills. For existing patients, telephone consults may be arranged for some cases.

COVID-19 Disease Prevention and Control

We are trying to do our part to help prevent and control the spread of COVID-19. To help minimize contact between people and make it easier to maintain a social distance, we ask:

If you have traveled outside Canada in the last 14 days or have respiratory symptoms, please be responsible and self-isolate. Call us to reschedule your appointment.

Clients are asked to wait in their car or in an exam room. Please do not wait in our reception area to help prevent crowding.

Please call ahead for prescription refills. If you arrive for a refill and it is not ready, please wait in your car until the prescription is ready.

To minimize person-to-person contact, exams will take place without the pet owner's presence. You can wait in a separate exam room or in your car. Exam finding and treatment plans will be discusses with a social distance of 2 meters or over the phone.

To minimize person-to-person contact, we would like to communicate by phone as much as possible. We will call before your appointment to get your pet's medical history and find out what problem(s) your pet is experiencing. This will prevent us from having to have a long conversation in person. If you don't hear from us, please give us a call.

Acres now has power back up and running. We will remain closed for the rest of today and reopen with regular hours at 10 a.m. tomorrow Tuesday September 10th.

We are currently closed due to no power from the hurricane if you have an emergency please call the metro animal emergency clinic at 902-468-0674 or you can go to their unit at 201 unit 32 Brownlow Avenue.
