PEANUT, the DNA results are in! See in photos.
This is Peanut. He was brought all the way to Kamloops from Louisiana, after he was found living in an equipment yard. He was starving, just skin and bones, covered in tics and fleas. He was brought back to health by a lovely family who brought him here to Kamloops. After coming to his new home in Kamloops it was discovered he can not live with cats, So he needs to find a new home with no cats. He loves playing with dogs, but needs an assertive older dog to show him the ropes. He's approximately 9-10 months old, NEUTERED, border collie/pit mix (awaiting DNA test), weighs 35 lbs. He is up to date on Vaccines, kennel cough, rabies DEPP/Lepto. He's a sweet boy who just wants to make you happy and be loved. He has had a rough start to life and will need some basic training. He has some fears when out in the world, so he will need help with that. He is house trained, and his crate training is OK but not perfect, he knows sit, lay down, spin and has been working on leave it. He loves treats and chew toys. This boy needs work to show him how good the world actually can be, but with his sweet, quirky, loving personality, he is well worth it!
If he finds a home locally, I will donate 3 private sessions to help him on his way. If it is further away I will donate one month of online private training.
He loves to play with his dog sister and they have a great time, but he is an adolescent and has figured her out pretty quick. He can put her in HER place, over toys/treats..she is a very soft Border collie. He is a smart pup! Although he is extremely friendly with people, He would do best in a home without small children. He has not been tested with children but being very boisterous and energetic, he might be a bit too much for little ones, although older children should be just fine. This pup with some time and patience will make a great sport potential, hiking buddy or just all round great dog as he is always up for a game of something and did we say? he has a lot of energy!
Please pm and I will put you in touch with his current pawrents..

Christmas photos with Melissa! She is a wonderful photographer so book early..perhaps a Christmas gift for a doggy person on your Christmas list?

Hey guys👋🏼 Melissa here, owner of M.K Photography and Sass & Bath K9 Services. It’s officially my favourite time of year😍🎄🐾📸

I’m excited to announce that I will be doing Pawholiday photos this year from November 26th to December 20th! I’d like to get an early start this year to give everyone a chance to book as I booked up so quickly last year. I’m excited to also tell you that I will be donating to not one but two of my favourite charities this year Kamloops Ruff Start Rescue Society & Four Paws Food Bank Foundation.

How do the donations work? I’m glad you asked! Each photo session will be $45 dollars! $20 dollars from each photo or bath session with me will go towards Kamloops Ruff Start Rescue and Four Paws Food Bank! Of course tips and extra donations are always welcome they are not necessary but very much appreciated!

While I’m running two businesses back to back this season I will only be doing a select few dog baths prior to photos as I’d like to focus more on my photography skills this year but I will do my best to squeeze you in! Booking dog baths with me you wont have to pay for photos as it will be included in your bath package🤗

To make things easier this year I am asking for cash only donations for pictures, as it’s easier to dived and keep track of while I delicate between two busy businesses during busy season. I do apologize for the inconvenience ahead of time!

Would love to book with me? Send me a message to secure a spot, all critters, children and adults are welcome! Can’t wait to see some familiar faces and some new ones🥰🎄📸🐶🐈‍⬛🦎🦔🐇🦜🐾🫶🏼

Let's get this sweet young pup out there for all to see!

This is Peanut. He was brought all the way to Kamloops from Louisiana, after he was found living in an equipment yard. He was starving, just skin and bones, covered in tics and fleas. He was brought back to health by a lovely family who brought him here to Kamloops. After coming to his new home in Kamloops it was discovered he can not live with cats, and is pushing around his dog sister. So he needs to find a new home with no cats, maybe even no other dogs. He loves playing with dogs, but needs an assertive older dog to show him the ropes. He's approximately 9-10 months old ( neutering this week), border collie/pit mix (awaiting DNA test), weighs 35 lbs. He is up to date on Vaccines, kennel cough, rabies DEPP/Lepto. He's a sweet boy who just wants to make you happy and be loved. He has had a rough start to life and will need some basic training as well as reactive training.

My assessment of Peanut: I find a lovely puppy with very few manners, ( not unexpected as he did not have a great start in life) I found he settled down quickly once put on leash when we were sitting. We tested him with the household cat and it in my opinion, he has waay too much interest and not in a positive way, so my advice was NO CATS! His dog sister in the home is a Border mix but very sensitive and soft..Peanut discovered he could intimidate her so if he is to have another "sibling" in the home, he would do best with more of a power breed. He loves to play with his dog sister and they have a great time, but he is an adolescent and has figured her out pretty quick. He is a smart pup! Although he is extremely friendly with people, I would not suggest a home with little children, he uses his paws ( somebody probably taught him to "give a paw " at some point), but he will constantly paw at you and he is strong for a smallish dog..plus he can leap tall buildings in a single bound so would be prone to knocking young children over. If you have an energetic teenager, then have at it..lol they would be best buds! This pup with some time and patience will make a great sport potential, hiking buddy or just all round great dog as he is always up for a game of something and did we say? he has a lot of energy!

This young Border Collie has struggled in a group setting in our Intro to agility, so today he came before regular class and this is what he and his guardian accomplished. Well done Scout and Mairie.

UPDATE !!! REHOMING PEANUT! He is recovering from his neuter done last Thursday, so he will be ready to go very soon. CAN YOU OFFER THIS YOUNG PUPPY HIS FOREVER HOME??

This young puppy is still continuing with his training. And will do until he has found that perfect home PLUS he has his neutered booked for this coming week!!!!

However, I have done an assessment on this puppy, my best guess was a border/Pit, but as the post says they have done a DNA on him and awaiting results.

This is Peanut. He was brought all the way to Kamloops from Louisiana, after he was found living in an equipment yard. He was starving, just skin and bones, covered in tics and fleas. Jax and Kes, first time meeting and a new friend for Kes. They got along famously and played how only Aussies can play!
Thank you Britt Rosin for the lovely walk.

Our Story

Cam K9 Services started back in 2008, named after one of the greatest dogs I ever had the pleasure and honour to have in my life. He taught me so much in his 16 years on this earth. Previously to Cam, I had been working with dogs for over 35 years, training, competing in Flyball, Agility, Obedience, Herding, dabbled in some Musical Freestyle, really as much “dog joy” as I could. My dog training style has evolved over the years from old school “check chain” training to more positive and “relationship based” training. We hope to add in Herding Instinct Training as well by the summer of 2021. Kathy and I still do in home training and consults and we now have two Kamloops trainers for our ever growing clientele list. Plus when required I can help with rehab of post op cruciates and a variety of other orthopedic surgeries. I am a Certified Canine Hydrotherapist and have been doing this for 10 years now. I have owned 2 pools and when Kamloops had their own pool, I worked in there as well. I am also trainer for Xtreme Air Dock Diving for BC. We do not get a lot of opportunity for this in Kamloops but I am willing to travel to give workshops to those that have pools at least 33 feet long, but better yet the standard 40 foot pools. Our location is now in beautiful Louis Creek. We have now opened up our very exclusive and luxurious K9 B & B to take in guest for boarding. We are unlike any other boarding facility in the Kamloops area and we are very proud to offer this service here.
