It is so important to us that our team continues to learn, grow and stay up to date on current standards in Veterinary care. Over the past month we were fortunate enough to have Dr Sukhpal Singh (Anesthesiologist) lead our team through not one, but two lectures on improving patient care during Anesthetic. We had such a great turn out to our first session that we actually decided to rent a space for the second! Special thank you to Dr Singh for such informative sessions and MiEducation for sharing their space with us

Well, I think it's safe to say that 🌺 Roxy Remembers 🌺
Believe it or not, Poppy ingestion is a common emergency we see this time of year. In fact, Roxy is our SECOND dog in one week to come in for having accidentally eaten their family's Remembrance Day Poppy. Luckily in both cases, thanks to their quick acting families, we were able to use a scope and safely remove the pin from their stomachs before it became a serious health issue or required an invasive surgery.
If you are one of our followers who works at/owns a Veterinary Clinic, let us know in the comments if you have seen this before in your hospital?

Special thanks to Roxy's loving family for trusting us with her care and allowing us to share her photo, bringing awareness to other pet families of this common November pet risk.

Today we are grateful for our hard working team members who dedicate their lives to helping animals. Even when that means spending time away from their own families during the holiday seasons.
We continue to remain available today for emergency services. Please call ahead (519-837-1212) to be provided with a recommended time of arrival, but be patient with our team members as wait times may be extended due to an increase of pets in need while other local hospitals are closed.

We asked Oliver's family not to let him lick/chew at his incision. They understood the assignment! He went home in a cute little baby onesie following an emergency surgery to remove about 10" of string like material from his intestines. Fortunately for Oliver, our team was able to massage the foreign material back into his stomach and remove it through his mouth using a scope (camera guided grasper) This meant avoiding an incision into his intestines and significantly reduced his risk of healing complications. He still has an incision on his abdomen though and we thought this baby onesie his family brought was a perfect way to keep it safe! Feel better Oliver and stay out of trouble for your family!!
