When I designed and created my own spin on a padded antler backing I hoped it would be as popular as its become.!!! Especially with Moose hunters for some reason... Thank you.

I do NOT do skulls or Euros here anymore, lord knows I have turned down more than a few of you and I apologize for that...This is a Christmas bundle for some good friends with deep pockets. There is also a set of moose antlers for padding to go with...its still in the works.

What a season that was.!!! For some it was great for others it wasnt. Unfortunately I had sccumb to an injury on the 21st from a fall which ended my season. As always, in order to maintain my high quality of standards and a proper realistic turn around time, anything Whitetail deer related must be recieved by the Dec.10
No exceptions,
other than previously arranged delays due to buck nights and scoring appts. Late season animals such as Elk, Moose, Mule deer, Coyotes, Wolves, Boar etc will continue to be happliy recieved as usual since they go into a different " Batch" at the tannery.

Happy Saturday Hunters.! This morning was spent watching the new movie Twisters ( not bad actually) and mounting these beautiful Moose Antlers for a great client.
These one of a kind pad job designs are certainly growing in as much popularity as I hoped.

The seasons are finally here, the 2024 Deer Muzzleloader kicks off tomorrow and i'd like to wish anyone heading out for it Goood luck.!
Couple things to keep in mind if you happen to harvest that Beauty youve been dreaming of. In this wierd warm weather we've been experiencing its important to cape your animal properly and keep the hide and meat cool and out of direct sunlight .
Never cut the throat or cut up the brisket.
Never drag or hang the animal by its neck.
Try to avoid getting the cape wet.
Once its caped properly with head still in and cooled, do NOT roll up. Put in bag loosely and freeze.
Be cautious, in this warm weather those capes and hides will be crawling with ticks.
Get it into your Taxidermist as soon as possible.
If you have ANY doubts, concerns or questions CALL your taxidermist.

In the nick of time i finished off this packmount for an Anniversary surprise .For a great couple and regular clients.
As i always say, a much better alternative to a hanging tanned hide.

What a great way to kick off the hunting seasons.!
Just finished the restoration of a beautiful set of moose antlers.They must have been outside in the weather for some time, pretty white and dried. Now the client can give them the admiration they deserve.

Hi everyone, the 2024 Spring Bear Season is coming on fast. Its a busy time hangin stands, barrels, collecting bait etc.
As always you should be thinking about what your going to do with it after the harvest has been made as well. Whether its a tanned hide, rug or mount, proper field handling and skinning are essential for a well preserved trophy... Contact a Taxidermist and discuss the options, techniques, procedures and prices.
Most of us love giving advice and consultations as it makes our job that much easier in creating a memorable art piece.

Made the annual bear bait run to Zhoda mb, to see DOA Outfitters and bait today..Went thru several snow squalls ( as usual).
Always a great time to see Darryl Kantimer.! There was wheeling, dealing, joking and laughing. A GREAT selection of bait.! It seems to change every year so ya never know what goodies he's got. Well worth the trip.
There were other customers there today capitalizing on the priceing as well. I say it every year and I cant say it enough...Thank you Darryl for being the guy in this province with the big enough balls to import this kind of quality bait at a reasonable affordable Price.!! Not only for the outfitters but the average local hunter like myself. Its been a game changer for me.
