Just finished the restoration of a beautiful set of moose antlers.They must have been outside in the weather for some time, pretty white and dried. Now the client can give them the admiration they deserve.

Hi everyone, the 2024 Spring Bear Season is coming on fast. Its a busy time hangin stands, barrels, collecting bait etc.
As always you should be thinking about what your going to do with it after the harvest has been made as well. Whether its a tanned hide, rug or mount, proper field handling and skinning are essential for a well preserved trophy... Contact a Taxidermist and discuss the options, techniques, procedures and prices.
Most of us love giving advice and consultations as it makes our job that much easier in creating a memorable art piece.

Made the annual bear bait run to Zhoda mb, to see DOA Outfitters and bait today..Went thru several snow squalls ( as usual).
Always a great time to see Darryl Kantimer.! There was wheeling, dealing, joking and laughing. A GREAT selection of bait.! It seems to change every year so ya never know what goodies he's got. Well worth the trip.
There were other customers there today capitalizing on the priceing as well. I say it every year and I cant say it enough...Thank you Darryl for being the guy in this province with the big enough balls to import this kind of quality bait at a reasonable affordable Price.!! Not only for the outfitters but the average local hunter like myself. Its been a game changer for me.
Andrews 2023 Muzzleloader buck finished off quite beautifully. Thank you for the opportunity sir. As most of you know I dont do this for a living. I dont do this for fame, fortune, likes or recognition from FB groups or the" know it alls" in them. To me its the Artistry, challenge and creativity that makes it worthwhile..and i like to think it shows in every piece.

I spend an awful amount of time trying to make these look alive, I never thought making it look freshly harvested would be so difficult.! Lol.
The research and development dept here ( ME.!) Never stops.! Never stops, thinking, reading, researching, experimenting, and innovating... I guess thats what seperates me from most of the " Cookie cutter" Taxidermists here in Mb....Today was spent recreating a deers Hind Quarter with artifical meat/blood for a PackMount coming up shortly. I think it looks real so far, how about you.???

Been out of the studio for most of the week, but I am excited and looking sooo forward to saturdays project..
I dont normally mount these small fur bearing critters, but this project was for my good friends good friend. Lots of modifications went into this piece as I couldnt find a mannikin big enough for this Otter.! Been a long day of intricate sewing thats for sure. After the right amount of drying time i'll make a cool driftwood base.. I think im bleeding from every finger tip.!!
Just my luck.! Supplies are starting to show up and I am full on plowing snow.!!! Always the case, I cant wait to tie into these projects.
Here is something most folks dont see to often, and a great example at that.!!! I just finished the secondary fleshing on this deer cape. Take a look at all those marks on the face and neck.!!! Those are actually bruises, permanent marks from fighting.!
Another bucks antlers and tines sure did a number on this fella. We've all seen fighting on video and in the field, and this is just another testament of the pain and suffering some of these old warriors endure....Respect.
Christmas isnt over yet.! I just recieved a box of presents from the Tannery...( Capes for mounting).

When my friend and client Trevor H had msgd me that his 15 yr old son Colten harvested his first deer, a buck, and they wanted me to preserve it in an artistic way i was thrilled and honored.! But......when he dropped of this Tank of a deer i was floored.! Its has one of the biggest heads and neck i think ive seen.! Way to go Colten.!! I look forward to the project. Thank you.

So I took on 2 sets of Caribou Antlers for restoration from a friend and client Brian... they were weathered, rough, white and split in half on the skull plate, so I added some color back to them and I just completed the first set hope he likes em as much as i do.!

A New client Dalton, dropped of these impressive moose antlers for a Signature Series Pad Job. And are they ever nice. 1ft circumference at the burrs.! Weighing 40lbs. Congrats on an amazing moose and thank you for trusting me to preserve them.
