The beautiful Izzy owns our Registered Veterinary Nurse Kim. She was a star patient for her blood tests, blood pressure check and ultrasound today.

You may recognise this fella as one of the kittens in for their first vaccinations on Tuesday. During his health check we heart a heart murmur, so today he came in for a heart scan to determine whether the murmur was due to an underlying heart disease before he potentially went to his new home. Thankfully all was well.

Aussie is a regular at the clinic, as we have been managing his congenital re**al stricture since he was born. Apparently lunch was up to standard today.

Meet the incredible Cwmwl - he’s 20 years old and doing amazingly well. He was diagnosed with glomerulonephritis in 2015 and has since managed chronic kidney disease, high blood pressure and arthritis, recovering well from some dental treatment under general anaesthetic in February of this year.

We had lots of sad cases today, but amongst them was Paws in her flower collar to brighten our day.

It’s not a fashion accessory, Paws had some deep wounds that required suturing and the flower should stop her being able to access them whilst they heal.

❤️ HOME NEEDED ❤️

Meet Willow, a young male, neutered cat that was brought to us as a stray. He has no known medical conditions and we have treated him for fleas/worms. He is very affectionate and playful, a total sweetheart! He has not appeared bothered by other cats in the clinic and seems happy interacting with children.

After almost a year of patiently waiting for a supply of I131 to become available again, we are set to welcome the first radioiodine cohort for 2024 on Friday! Radioactive iodine (I131) is a treatment for hyperthyroidism in cats, which few centres in the UK are able to offer. Tomorrow Hooch, Pandora, Luna and Eloise will undergo blood tests and a heart scan to ensure this treatment is a safe and suitable option for them, before entering the unit on Friday for their treatment.

#kittencam update from this evening. The kittens are 5 weeks old and loving their new freedom to explore.

Bubbles fractured his femur and had surgery to repair it on Wednesday. He’s currently enjoying belly rubs and good on tap.

Teddy-Pumpkin came in on Monday after collapsing at home. He was rapidly diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), a genetically-inherited heart condition, causing a build up of fluid in the sac around the heart (pericardial effusion) and around the lungs (pleural effusion). Very sadly, Teddy-Pumpkin is only a year old and has severe heart disease. However, he’s stabilised and we are all set for his discharge tomorrow morning. Here he is enjoying a post-lunch fuss.
