A ginger male cat in a very poor condition was brought in today by a member of the public it was found in the Rumney area.

He is neutered, microchipped but unfortunately the chip is not registered.

Are you looking to travel abroad with your pet this summer? If you are, you will be required to obtain an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) for them.

An AHC needs to be issued by an Official Veterinarian (OV).

Check with your veterinary practice to see if they have a qualified OV because not every practice will have one.

Heat stress starts as a reversible condition, but if not managed it will develop to heat stroke, which is extremely dangerous.

If your pet shows any of these signs, they should be moved to a cool area and offered plenty of water to drink.

Unlike us, pets have no understanding that hot weather can be harmful. We control their environment, their access to water and their exercise, and they can’t speak up if they start feeling unwell.

Deafness is rising in the UK; by 2035, it is estimated that one in five British people (over 15 million) will experience hearing loss.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a national charity that trains dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds like the smoke alarm, alarm clock and even a baby’s cry. Their burgundy coats also act as a visual reminder to the public when they are out and about that their partner is deaf.

We've been informed a what appears to be a pet bird found at Rumney Primary School this morning.
It is mainly white with a bright orange beak and very small - no identity ring.
If you think he/she might be your it has been taken to ARC - Anna's Rescue Centre
