Lizzie recently visited us for her Blood Pressure reading, as she is on medication to control her high blood pressure. She is a 19 year old kitty who is known to become quite stressed when she's at the vets 😿 as an ISFM accredited cat friendly practice, we like to make sure all our feline patients are as comfortable and stress-free as possible. We set Lizzie up in a cat-only ward, away from the sights or smells of other patients. We gave her a comfy bed, sprayed with Pet Remedy, a natural calming aid 😌 For her Blood Pressure readings we used a Oscillometric device, which is less invasive than other methods. This allowed Lizzie to relax in her bed, being hand fed Lick-e-lix whilst we took the readings we needed 😻 Luckily the results showed her Blood Pressure is well controlled and her medications do not need to be altered 🥰 Well done Lizzie! It was a pleasure to look after you 💕

It's National Black Cat Day 🐈⬛
Unfortunately black cats have always suffered a bad reputation due to being associated as a symbol of bad luck. This among other reasons leads to them often being overlooked at cat shelters and rescues 😿
However it's also been said that historically, sailors and fishermen believed that having a black cat onboard would bring the ship good luck and guarantee a safe journey (with the added benefit of fewer rats)
We think black cats are some of the most beautiful, loving and charismatic of our feline friends 🥰
