π Laser Treatment π
Laser treatment is a scientifically proven way to reduce your pets pain and inflammation.
Laser therapy targets your pets damaged cells, gives pain relief, improves tissue repair and reduces healing time.
Laser treatment also stimulates the production of high levels of naturally-produced endorphins which further counteracts pain, helping your pet have a speedy recovery.
This is a drug free treatment, with no side effects and can be used in addition to your pets prescribed medication.
If you would like more information on this please call us on 01603 955056 ππΎπ

π Flea Season π
If your pet is unprotected, adult fleas will feed on them and go on to lay an average of 20 eggs every day, which your pet helps to distribute around the environment as they move.
Fleas lay eggs on your pet which fall off into your home wherever your pet wanders, which means they might end up on bedding, furniture and in your carpet.
Once the eggs hatch into flea larvae, they seek out dark spaces such as under furniture and in the pile of carpets, or cracks between floorboards, that will provide protection.
Fleas are not fussy they will also live on wildlife. They are a huge nuisance to our pets. When they feed on them, sucking their blood, the itchy bites can cause distress and discomfort to our pets.
If you discover your dog or cat has fleas you will need to treat them and any other pets in the household right away. Youβll then need to turn your attention to getting rid of fleas from your home.
Please do not hesitate to call us on 01603 955056 for a flea consultation ππΎπ

π Is your cat microchipped? π
Microchipping is a legal requirement in dogs and will become a legal requirement for cats from the 10th June 2024.
It will be against the law for your cats to not be microchipped, and you could face a fine up to Β£500. Kittens must be microchipped by 5 months old.
Having your cat microchipped is a quick procedure using a tiny chip that is placed under your pets skin. It ensures that if your cat is lost and they are taken to a Veterinary practice or are found by a rescue centre, their chip will be scanned and you will be contacted immediately.
If your cat needs to be microchipped, please contact us 01603 955056 and we can arrange you an appointment. ππΎπ

π Veterinary Nurse awareness month π
This month has been Veterinary Nurse awareness month so we would like to say thank you to our amazing nurses and our student nurse for all of their hard work ππΎπ
β₯ Monthly Braveheart β₯
Hallswood asked us to neuter and microchip a stray cat as he had been living on the streets, going into peoples houses and fighting with other cats.
He was very feral, we could not handle him. We had to sedate him before we could examine him. Once sedated it came to light that he had already been castrated and had a microchip. We checked the microchip and it was registered at another animal sanctuary as he had been rehomed. The animal sanctuary called the owner, the owner was thrilled as he had been missing since September 2022.
The owner collected and was absolutely thrilled to be reunited. His name is Raphael. We explained that he is very feral and he does not like to be handled, so she set up her spare room up for him to have time to build trust again and to give him space.
Once she got Raphael home she messaged us to say that he is already remembering his home. After sniffing around the room for 5 minutes he came and rubbed his head on her, licked her and even sat on her lap and even head bopped the dogs.
We are so happy that they found each other again after such a long time and its shows that animals never forget! ππΎπ
Ned enjoyed lots of cuddles today while he was having his dental for his broken tooth ππΎπ
Meet Minnie, she came in for a dental and she loved the cuddles from our receptionist Becky. Minnie is such a beautiful lovable rabbit.
Rabbits are more prone to dental health problems than dogs and cats, this is because unlike cat and dogs teeth, rabbits teeth are constantly growing and are worn down as long as their dentition is correct and they are alligned.
Many rabbits will suffer from dental problems at some point in their life so it is very important for owners to be aware ππΎπ
We had "Grey Bird" come in for a nail trim with Chris. Isn't he beautiful. Grey Bird enjoyed chatting with us... but he did use some choice language... he really did make us all smile π
πWelcome to Rackheath Vets Family Tilly π

Did you know that hamsters love to forage and find food to take back to their nests or to hide in spots for them to go back to later? Hiding food in your hansters set up and within their substrates can encourage these natural behaviours that hamsters would explore in the wild. Hamsters will forage for a range of nutrients that can be found in different seeds, vegetables, nuts, grains, flowers, insects and fruits. Ensuring that your hamster can use their natural foraging instincts can assist in their health and wellness πΉβ₯οΈπ°π₯¬π₯
