Uh oh, if Woody had checked our posts he'd have known to leave those mince pies alone ...

He came in looking ever so pleased with himself.. the naughty pants managed to scoff ✨TEN mince pies✨ while his mum was stocking up for the festivities!

One mince pie is bad enough never mind TEN!!🙀 Congratulations Woody for being our first mince pie thief of the season🥧
(Swipe to see the saddest face after the consequences of Woody's thievery)🤢

Another one for our list ..

🍇Dried Fruit 🍇

Usually found in mince pies and Christmas puds, festive desserts are not kind to our pets as dried fruit can cause vomiting, diarrhoea and kidney failure, so stay safe and keep the mince pies out of reach of your pets!🍪
If your pet has eaten any dried fruit - especially sultanas, raisins or grapes, contact your vet immediately.👩🏼‍⚕️

Handsome boy Basil made himself very comfortable on our orthopedic mattress during his stay with us🥰

For our older, arthritic patients, we offer large spongy mattresses as this can really ease their joint pain and make their time here a little more comfortable ❤️‍🩹

To kick off our of seasonal scaries ..

🍫 Chocolate 🍫

It's well known that chocolate is toxic to dogs, and during the Christmas period most houses are full to the brim with delicious chocolatey delights - but beware, they are not so delightful for our furry friends!

Chocolate can cause high blood pressure and seizures so to keep your pets safe, don't share your choccies 👩🏼‍⚕️
If your dog has eaten chocolate, please contact your vet.

Hello November🍂 and hello to our newest ✨Star Patient Of The Month, 🌟Copper🌟

This smoochy girl is Copper. She first came in limping with a swollen foot - upon further inspection, it was very sore and looked quite nasty!

She was sent off to referral for further examination where they kept her hospitalised, topped up with plenty of medication and lots of fluid therapy to keep her comfy 🏥

She came back to us for bandage changes every 2 days where she melted onto the floor and demanded belly rubs .. every single time!🦭

Copper was so tolerant of all our poking and prodding, as long as she got her belly rubs she allowed us to change her bandages without a fuss❤️

We still don't know what caused her sore foot, but it is suspected to be from a snakebite!!🐍

Such a lovely girl, we are so pleased she's doing better! 🥰

Swipe along to see the progression of Copper's foot.

When your pet comes in for a procedure, we treat them with the same love and care we'd give our own pets

Rocco here was sedated to have his ears checked and thoroughly enjoyed a cuddle with Tacha beforehand🫶🏼

Some extremely wholesome pictures for your 🥰

Last Friday, Dora was struggling to give birth. After passing one pup she laboured for 2 hours without any progression so she came into practice for some assistance.

She was admitted for an emergency C-section at 5.30pm and by 5:50pm all pups were out and being resuscitated by the nurses♥️

C-sections can be tricky as they usually require all hands on deck and in this case, every nurse on shift and a couple of the receptionists to lend a hand too!👩🏼‍⚕️

✨Six puppies in total - all healthy, happy and howling to let us know they're okay!✨

Once mum was settled and recovering well, we introduced her babies - she accepted them nicely and started feeding. She also enjoyed a little snack herself after such an ordeal.

We saw Dora and her pups back for a post-op check this week and we are so pleased to say everyone is doing remarkably well 🥰

You may recognise this handsome chap as August's star patient ... After another nearly fatal incident, we thought it only right to award Jaxon as our October Star Patient of the Month too✨

Back in the summer he had a life saving thoracotomy and recovered beautifully..

More recently he was hit by a car - and luckily escaped, although not without injury.

Despite being in a lot of pain, Jaxon was ever the gentleman, as always - not a single grumble or a groan as he allowed us to do everything we needed to get a diagnosis👩🏼‍⚕️

He had fractured his elbow and shattered his olecranon (the pointy part of the elbow) - (swipe to see the difference between Jaxons x-rays and an x-ray image of a healthy elbow)

Jaxon had surgery at a referral hospital the very next day and is already back on the mend showing off his gorgeous smile! What a warrior!❤️‍🩹

We love you Jaxon, but please try and stay out of trouble for a little longer♥️
A massive well done to Jax's Mum and Dad for providing such fantastic post-op care (twice!) and a big thank you for sending us regular updates on your wonderful boy's recovery 🩵
