Hello wonderful community! We would like to fundraise and show our support to a very special organisation which is close to our hearts. We are holding a 'Pink for a Day' event to fundraise and share awareness for breast cancer, at the clinic on Wednesday the 16th Ocober. We would love you to pop in and support our team, there will be some yummy treats you can purchase with your donation!
I'm fundraising for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ, to help fund breast cancer education, research and patient support. Please donate to help the 3,500 Kiwis diagnosed with breast cancer each year in NZ.

WINTER is……. Senior Citizens Special Checkup Time
Cold winter weather can often be a miserable time for older pets. Arthritis, loss of appetite, lack of energy, thinner coats and skin can all make winter an unpleasant time for your pet. As a special winter promotion, we are offering a special “Golden Oldies” package. This includes:
• Full examination and heath appraisal – particularly with regard to heart, arthritis, teeth and weight/diet
• A screening chest X-ray or lower spine (arthritis) xray
• A complete blood count and serum biochemistry to check body vital functions
Using our modern Idexx Laboratories diagnostic testing equipment, we can test your pet for symptoms that present themselves before they even become a problem. Problems with the vital organs (liver, kidney, spleen, intestines and diabetes) can all be detected early. This allows us to treat your pet early, and thus increase the length and quality of their life.
• Urine testing
• Free worming treatment
• A full written report and copies of all tests done
• A consultation with the vet to discuss the results and view the xray
For more information and to book your pet in please call the clinic on 410 5169.

When you’re giving us a good old belly rub, you may notice some lumps and bumps under our skin. That’s a good time to Book in for a Seniors Pet Health Check-Up because early detection helps. (But finish the belly rub first please).
Today Emma and Angie had the pleasure of releasing a little blue penguin that ended up in our care. After talking to the department of conservation it was decided that the best course of action was to let the little chap go. He was enthusiastic to get back to the ocean. Just a small reminder if you see any of our lovely sea birds whilst you are visiting the beach it's best to leave them there unless visibly injured, if you are concerned please contact either the doc hotline or nz bird rescue for some advice
