🎆 Fireworks season can be rough for our furry friends! 🎇 Loud noises can cause pets a lot of stress, but there are steps you can take to make it easier on them. 💙
🐶 Create a Safe Space where your pet can retreat during fireworks.
🐾 Give dinner and take them for a walk before dusk.
🎶 Play calming music to cover the noise.
🪟 Close the curtains or blinds to reduce the light and sounds.
🧘‍♂️ Try calming treats or supplements to help ease anxiety.

Their skills involve but are not limited to help with anaesthesia, assisting in surgery, recovery, administration of medications,IV fluids, bandaging, taking blood samples, monthly injections, , urine and blood test and assessing patient pain levels and comfort. They are also alongside you in sad and challenging times when your pet is extremely unwell and also at the end of your pets life which is challenging and sad but they handle with the utmost care and respect.

🐕‍🦺🙀🐾Foreign Body Alert 🐕‍🦺🙀🐾

Beautiful Roku was presented to our clinic for overnight vomiting and being off food. Pet Vets team stabilised him with a drip and started pain relief. After prompt onsite work up including blood tests and abdominal ultrasound scan, he was diagnosed as having intestinal obstruction . Later that day Roku underwent a surgery to remove the foreign body and has now made a full recovery.

🤔Roku’s caring owner had pet insurance for him so they did not have to worry about the unexpected costs during the stressful situation.

With winter truly upon us, we start to feel our joints and those aches and pains just that little bit more, and so do our pets!
🐾If you notice your pets struggling to jump up on the couch, slowing down, becoming less social, cats not grooming or sleeping more etc. then they may be suffering from arthritis.

🐕🐩🐾Nail Boards - An Alternative to Nail Clipping!🐕🐩🐾 At the level 4 lockdown, we are not able to do nail trims for your pets, unless the overgrown nails are causing pain or welfare issues. As an alternative, we are sharing info about the Nail boards. If they work for your dog then they provide stress free way of managing the overgrowing nails. See the attached video of Roshi using the nail board, thankfully shared by our esteemed client. Nail boards can be made using a board, duct tape, and coarse or medium sandpaper. Tips to train your dog for nail board: Another alternative to nail board training is to incorporate fun games. Place the board on the ground, sprinkle it with treats then cover with a towel. Many dogs will dig through the towel to find the treats, filing their own nails in the process. Toss a squeaky toy on the ground and place the board on top. Often your dog will dig at the board to get to the toy, filing his nails in the process. Place the board in a high traffic area where your dog frequently walks, such as near the door to go outside. Walking over the board will naturally file the nails. If you have a dog that frequently scratches to go outside, you can hang a small board on the door to encourage them to scratch the nail board instead.
