Happy birthday to two of our most accomplished horses that are both grade! Handsome is 21 this year and Sally is 28.

Handsome is still Rhiannan's main shooting horse and on the home page of the CMSA website. Sally is giving lessons and seems to love her new job.

We are late sharing about some of the year end shows! Time to catch up!

Rhiannan had an AMAZING State 4H winning 4 classes (poles, key, jumping figure 8, and training step 4). It was definitely a show to remember!

Time for a shout out! Kenadi competed at Champ Show last weekend. This is only her 3rd season riding. This girl and her horse are beasts! They put together gorgeous runs all season and were both fast and consistent. Champ Show isn't a normal show. Its one of the largest all breed horse shows in the world! She had over 100 people in each class. I know people that have competed for more than 10 years without winning a ribbon. This rockstar was able to snag 2nd in 4-in-line! We're so proud of you, Kenadi and Candy!

As we are finishing up our State Fair show, just have to post a shout out to Julia and her mom! Being successful in the horse world can be a long road, but they committed to lessons every time they're posted and Julia's parents keep saying YES to our crazy ideas! They bought this pony that needed some consistency, worked diligently, got it qualified for the State Fair, signed up, and competed! They were just out of the ribbons, but had some beautiful rides! Here is to awesome parents, hard working kids, and a bright future in the horse world! Well done!

To answer a common open riding question ... 🤠

🧍‍♀️+🐴🐴🐴= $45 (this includes just ground worked horses, they count as a horse)
🧍‍♀️🧍‍♂️+ 🐴= $30 (spectators obviously do not count, but if you're working or riding horses, you do)

Can you feel it?! 🌡60 degrees next week! 😁🤞If you just can't wait any longer for this snow to melt and dry up 😭 and need to get horses legged up, the indoor is available for open riding. 7 days a week, 6am-9pm. Contact Heather if you haven't been out before.

Driveway is plowed out well enough that open riders and boarders can head over. Second Driveway is a little narrow in places, so if you have a giant trailer,use the main driveway.

Hey Open Riders! A slight change in hours.
📌 Tuesday and Thursday mornings, the arena will not be available from 8am-1pm. Every other day is the same, 6am-9pm 7 days a week. 🙂

Its story time! May this bring a smile, yet also serve as a warning! 💕🤣😬💕

In early 2020, a young girl came to us for riding lessons. She was great at following directions, was brave, and her parents were willing to bring her regularly.

Shortly after, we had purchased a horse for one of our kids that wasn't the right fit for us. We offered it to the family coupled with a riding lesson package worked into the deal. They bought the horse and off we all went to horse shows and mounted shooting events.

The parents were quickly talked into joining the fun, so a second horse was soon needed. Pretty soon, the little girls siblings wanted to ride too. So more horses, a trailer and a fence at home were needed. Shortly after the family moved north an hour to a real ranch.

Then the mom and daughter headed to Texas for the CMSA World Championship Mounted Shooting competition. And guess what?! That driven little girl whose parents jumped in with both feet is now the 2022 CMSA Wrangler Open World Champion!!!

Congratulations Vada!!! So proud of you!! Congratulations to your whole family- it was a whole family effort!
