We are a family-owned & operated beekeeping company, keeping hives happy in the Cincinnati metropolitan area including southeastern Indiana. 2018 was rough on our bees, we lost all we had and we are currently on hiatus.

On top of one of our Cincinnati hives this afternoon, I spied a little wanderer investigating a mulberry leaf. 💗 Hello little lady!

Caught our own swarm yesterday afternoon! These bees clumped and bearded on a tree branch about 35 feet from our back porch here at Cloud 9 Apiary's Cincinnati location. Luckily I looked around the yard before letting our resident dogs out for a well deserved run. 24 hours later, the swarm is happily working their new hive box. We also ironically had 2 of our Southeastern IN hives swarm yesterday as well. But I'm under good authority that they have been guided back into hive boxes and working away in a happy fashion as well! Busy Monday for the Beeks here at Cloud 9! 🐝💗🐝💗🐝💗

Harvested from our smaller batch hives in Cincinnati, OH, this honey was created from our lovely urban bees foraging from wildflowers such as agastache, echinachea, & sunflowers to name a few. This honey has a stronger flavor than our Spring Golden if you were lucky enough to get your tastebuds around that. Our Fall Haul is a great compliment to any recipe, a welcome way to sweeten your morning coffee or drizzle over a warm bowl of oats.

On the list of Apiary chores for the week:
Extracted more honey! Yay!
Visited our friends in Knightstown, IN at Bastin Bee Farm & Supply and loaded up the station wagon with supplies for upcoming harvests & honey sales.
Filtered the extracted honey to get it ready for bottling. Getting the new bottles sanitized, dry & ready to hold some liquid gold!
