I trimmed the frog pad to be centered as
It had moved after I set his foot down. I also used perfect hoof clay around the perimeter to treat the fungus and anchor holes. It is very important to use the curing pads when applying the wraps. This allows the force of the foot to press the perfect hoof ware into the collateral grooves and form around the hoof perimeter. Water cured - NO GLUE.

Sculptural Equine Foot work. Fergus keeps me thinking and working on improving this hoof. His caudal foot is heeling and building up and yet it is slow, but it is there! The cuneal as well as toric digital cushion is having health returned.

When you are wrapping (perfect hoof wear) your own horse and don’t happen to have an assistant ready - you do what you can to lift the opposite leg while working/curing the wrapped foot🤣.

I am in the advanced course so I can help this horse. Balancing the toe plane and building the heels and even the frog to balance to it. Applied Equine Podiatry really is an art..
This horse had poor caudal health and had an abscess completely blow out his medial heel, as well as had a batch of hay with too much iron. His inner and outer hoof had an entire section (on all 4 feet) that was not laminated. Nutrition deficiencies appear in the feet very fast.

I have been rebuilding it for correct stimulus and thus correct growth. What is coming down is much healthier. After adding the orthotics (solemates) I rasped them down to balance to the same toe plane. Easy to see on the lateral image.

A healthy heel moves independently up and down (distal to proximal). The unstable hoof spreads out and cracks open the central sulcus. What does your horse’s heel look like?

Definitely need a new iphone. My camera is apparently no longer happy with my phone. BUT here are some before and after of a lovely little mustang that had been trimmed 2 weeks prior to my work. The front toes were straight across… 🤦‍♀️ why?!!

Some wraps today! This mare’s feet used to be 1+ - no structure, flat, long toe. Today she is a 3+. Needs to stay in wraps for a bit, but her caudal foot is starting to build up.
