Tigua Animal Control
In 2018 Tigua Inc. Animal control obtained a contract in Ft. Bliss and McGregor Range providing animal services. Our animal control officers are responsible for patrolling and responding to calls regarding domestic and wild animals. Currently we have 4 officers that investigate reports of animal nuisances, animal bites or attacks of animal cruelty. They also trap wild animals and report the capture of wildlife to the proper authorities for transport or removal.
Providing animal services effectively requires cooperative agreements with partners to ensure victims of an animal attack or bite are handled properly and/or that the animal is impounded, kenneled or transferred to an appropriate facility. Our officers scan domestic animals for a microchip in order to help return animals to their owners prior to kenneling the animal at the El Paso Animal Services. Our officers have access to animal control databases to keep track of incidents and identify animal owners or repeat offenders. Tigua Inc. has formed a relationship with the El Paso Animal Services to exchange services at no or low cost.
Tigua Inc.โs Tribal Council (Ysleta Del Sur Pueblo) has provided Animal Control with a contract authorizing the enforcement of animal control on their reservation lands. Home owners in both reservations are obligated to follow Tigua Inc.โs Animal Control policies. These policies promote responsible pet ownership to ensure the protection of both pets and people. Tribal members whom fail to comply with these policies are subject to citations, fines, court hears or having their pet removed from tribal lands and kenneled.
