Tomorrow it’s time to get the flower garden planted for farmers market sales! Come early if you’d like, especially those who can’t make it at 11am. We’ll be there all morning.
**We will be planting market varieties as a “crop” using sustainable crop production methods. So if you’ve ever thought about growing flowers for market, this is a great way to experiment and learn how to plan, prep, plant, and harvest bouquets throughout the season.

Meet us bright and early Thursday 9/20 @ 6:30am. Learn how to properly design and lay a drip tape irrigation system and how to apply the correct amount of compost for our AZ soil. We work on 30” x 100’ rows, but all processes are scalable to your own urban farm needs.
Watching how to urban farm on YouTube is awesome - but nothing beats actually DOING IT!

Great meeting Thursday! UFC made an organic soil mix specifically formulated for our AZ climate and planted over 1500 vegetable and flower seeds. They’ll be ready to transplant out in the field next month - I hope everyone’s ready for upcoming UFC’s Farmers Markets!

AZ microgreens is hiring

Arizona Microgreens, an urban greenhouse farm located in South Phoenix, is hiring a full-time employee for greenhouse operations and farmers’ market sales.
This is an entry-level, hands-on position working with plants from seed to harvest during the week and farmers’ markets on the weekend. Employees will have two non-consecutive days off each week. Candidates must be comfortable with early morning shifts as well as working both in a greenhouse operations and farmers’ market sales capacity.
The greenhouse is located near 32nd street and Broadway. Employees must have their own transportation. Candidates with a truck or SUV are strongly preferred.
Please note, U.S. employment authorization is required. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds for this position. Compensation starts at $11 per hour and then goes to $12 per hour after three months.
Interviews will take place from January 3rd to January 10th.

Hear ye hear ye!!!

End of the semester blow-out sale is happening tomorrow!

Lots of different plant varieties to choose from: tomatoes, peppers, onions, herbs, house plants, cacti, agave, landscape, and trees.

Plus freshly harvested hydroponic butter crunch lettuce, and lots of squash. Fresh cut flowers!!

We will be east of the clock tower on the sidewalk.

We accept cash, checks, and cards!

HEAR YE, HEAR YE: Plant Sale Prep Days are happening this Tuesday and Wednesday out at the Land Lab: 10 AM - 4 PM (w/ lunch break @ 11:30ish) ... We will be transplanting and prettifying plantlings and combo pots so we can sell them at our plant sale on Thursday. We need to raise some cash for our Spring Trip to Tucson, so stop on in and lend a hand if you're able!!

!! GARDEN PLANT SALE !! MCC's 50th Birthday Celebration Week: Thursday, April 9th 10AM - 1PM on the MCC Theatre North Lawn (west of the Art Building). We have many seedlings looking for new homes: tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, squash, sweet alyssum, nasturtiums and more! We have also put together some specialty combo pots: Gazpacho Garden, Flower Garden, 3 Bean Salad Garden, and more! All plants grown on campus INSECTICIDE AND HERBICIDE FREE.
