Coffee roasting day at the homestead! Mr. Double Dane has become a pretty good amateur roast master over the years. He’s roasting Colombian Premium Huila - Acevedo AA (Top Lot) today, and it smells delicious every step of the way. The green beans have a luscious sweet floral scent, and the smell as it develops in the roaster is exquisitely toasty!
This coffee has a combination of these significant notes:
* Mellow acidity paired with caramel sweetness.
* Sweet and medium-bodied
* Hints of nutty notes
* Caramel and creamy aftertaste
We roast with a Gene Cafe small-batch roaster, which we use to roast a half pound of coffee in 25 minutes. We’re looking to get a larger roaster in the next few years with at least four times the capacity as we plan to get into retail coffee as Double Dane Homestead matures. 🐄🐘☕️
We definitely have the best smelling garage in the neighborhood!
