After more than 80 years of caring for Pinellas County’s homeless pets, SPCA Tampa Bay has expanded its programs to help pets that are still in their homes. The SPCA Tampa Bay Veterinary Center provides comprehensive pet care through a full-service veterinary hospital, preventive care, and spay/neuter clinic – all in one facility. Any pet owner – not just owners who have adopted from SPCA Tampa Ba

y – can bring their pet to the Veterinary Center for full-service care that includes preventive, medical, surgery, and general care services. With each visit, clients of the Veterinary Center can feel good knowing they are helping to “paw it forward” for other animals in the community. A portion of all revenue supports the programs and services at SPCA Tampa Bay’s animal shelter in Largo, as well as helping other families with their pet’s care through the Caldwell Keeping Families Together Fund.

😸 We have great mews! 😸

Thumbelina, who had her spay surgery at SPCA Tampa Bay Veterinary Center on Monday, is home and recovering well (while looking absolutely adorable!) 🐈‍⬛

On Monday, Dr. Rizal Lopez celebrated his 25,000th spay and neuter surgery milestone 🥳 Miss Thumbelina was lucky number 25,000!

To put that number into perspective... 25,000 surgeries is more than fans can fill Amalie Arena for a Tampa Bay Lightning game 🏒

While in private practice for 12 years, Dr. Lopez estimates he performed 1,000 surgeries. In his first year with SPCA Tampa Bay, Dr. Lopez operated on more than 3,000 animals 🐾

Spaying or neutering your pets prevents accidental litters, meaning there are fewer homeless animals in local shelters. It also provides important health and behavioral benefits for your pets, and our community!

Thank you Dr. Lopez for faithfully serving the animals in our community for so many years 🧡
