Hello August! 👋🏼

Another month has come and gone, so we wanted to take a “paws” to pop in for a quick pupdate regarding the status of HPP. ⬇️

Summer has been flying by as we continue to live in our little house bubble and focus on all things baby! In addition to our doctor’s appointments and hanging out with a few close family members, we have added in the occasional walk around the neighborhood to enjoy some fresh air and nature whenever the temperature permits.☀️

Furthermore, one of baby boys dachshund siblings turned 11 this month and he is now big enough that he was able to participate in the festivities! 🥳

As you can see, I am teaching him to love dogs just like me, for not only does he have his six four-legged brothers & sisters to keep him company, but he also rocks his doggie print nightgown, as well as snuggle with his own little baby puppy, which of course was picked out by me! 🐾

With that being said, the love of dogs is still in my heart, but I will continue to remain out of the office at this time, as my focus is still fixated on helping baby boy develop, grow big & strong! In the meantime, I will do my best to answer any email, text and phone inquiries as they come in. Thank you for all of your patience throughout my journey into motherhood. I look forward to keeping you updated on the adventures of six dogs and a baby! Plus, I truly appreciate all of my HPP clients-both dog and human alike! Y’all are the best! 🥲

Hello July! 👋🏼

Another month has come and gone, so we wanted to take a “paws” to pop in for a quick pupdate regarding the status of HPP. ⬇️

Not too much has changed from our pupdate at the beginning of June. We are still living in our little house bubble while we continue to focus on helping baby boy grow big & strong! We venture out for doctor’s appointments, the occasional car ride & have made an appearance to meet a few close family members. 💙

Other than that, his six four-legged brothers & sisters are keeping him company and entertained while helping me hold down the fort! 🐾
And as you can see, his big brother Bodhi continues to be the best companion! Their bond truly makes my heart melt and I feel very fortunate that they get along so well! 🥹
P.S. we have officially entered the smiling era! 🤗

As we continue to truck right along, the majority of my focus needs to be on all things baby; therefore, I will remain out of the office at this time, but will do my best to answer any email, text and phone inquiries as they come in. It’s the first Monday of June! 👋🏼

Another month has come and gone, so we just wanted to take a “paws” to pop in for a quick pupdate regarding the status of HPP. 🤓

Since arriving home from our lengthy NICU stay at the hospital, we have been living in our little house bubble and following up with all of baby boys multiple doctors appointments to ensure we keep him on the right track of growing big & strong. Luckily for him, he has six four-legged brothers and sisters to keep him entertained while being home bound! 🐕

His big brother Bodhi has proven to be the best companion! He watches over him, lays besides him and comes in with some kisses to comfort him when I don’t bring the milk fast enough! 🥹

I am truly looking forward to seeing how their bond continues to prosper and so far have nothing but good things to say regarding life with six dogs & a baby! 🐾

With that being said, I will remain out of the office, but will do my best to answer any email, text and phone inquiries as they come in. Thank you for your patience during this time. I truly appreciate all of my HPP clients-both dog and human alike! 🙏🏼

Hello May! 👋🏼

Another month has come and gone, so we just wanted to take a “paws” to pop in for a quick pupdate regarding the status of HPP. As I’m sure you had seen, we posted at the beginning of February that we would be out of the office for a while. I have been waiting to make a public announcement regarding the reason why, as these last few months have been extremely challenging mentally, physically and emotionally. On February 8th, 2024 my day to day life got flipped upside down when my sweet baby boy decided to make his debut into this world at only 27 weeks gestation, weighing in at 2 pounds 14 ounces. 💙

With that being said, my husband & I were quickly immersed into the NICU journey, which is why I needed to take a paws and dedicate my time, focus, energy and commitment on helping my son overcome all of the obstacles that coincide with being a premature baby. 🥹

Fortunately, after 78 days in the hospital, we were able to bring our son home this past weekend. To say we are proud of our boy would be a huge understatement. Nothing can prepare you for having to watch your innocent little baby encounter such a difficult start to life, but his resilience throughout this process has been amazing to witness. He is truly a little warrior! 🥲
We have lots of follow up appointments to keep him on the right track, but we are confident in his ability to continue to prosper along! 🙌🏼

I want to say thank you to all of our loyal HPP pack members for your patience and support over the last few months. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience my absence has imposed on my human and four-legged clients, but hope you understand the need to put my personal family first! ♥️

I will continue to remain out of the office at this time, but will do my best to answer any email, text and phone inquiries as they come in as I focus on my next adventure of settling into home life with 6 dogs and a baby! 🐾

Goofy. Happy-go-lucky. Easygoing. Those are just a few of the adjectives I would use to describe the pups below! ⬇️
And the good thing about pups with these qualities is that it typically means your adventures are much more laid back and enjoyable, as you can see from the captured photos from our walk yesterday. 😅

Nonetheless, it’s important to remember that not all pups naturally have a go with the flow temperament and that is okay.👌🏼
Sure you may have to put in a little extra work to get them to a better place, but we’re here to help you make your relationship with your four-legged FURiend the absolute best it can be, so that you are both thriving in and outside of the home! 🙌🏼

The AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) sponsors Pet Dental Health month every February to remind pet pawrents on the importance of dental care and how it can affect your pets overall health. 🦷

Remember that dental health should be a part of your pets normal routine all year long and you can easily incorporate the use of training to get your pet comfortable with regular tooth brushing at home! 🪥

So many owners mistake the absence of rules, structure, and accountability as a gift of freedom. What they fail to realize is that the “gift” they think they’re giving is actually a curse of lifetime micromanagement and limitations.

The irony is that the dogs who have the skills and reliability which come from the “soul crushing” rules, structure, and accountability are the dogs who live the biggest, happiest, most included, and truly freedom-filled lives.

For those of you who don’t know, a flexi-lead is more well known as a retractable leash and yes every time I see someone using one, especially when they are fully extended with a dog going berserk at the end of the line, I am internally screaming inside. 🙃

Just wanted to put this out there, so you know ahead of time if we work together that I will not suggest you ever using a retractable leash and if you are currently using one, I will encourage you to throw it away ASAP! 💯
After doing so, we can move forward with some efficient tools like a long line or standard leash to help you accomplish your walking and training goals! 🙌🏼
And I will do all of this in the most polite way of course! 😊

The sad part is that I have to do this with pretty much every dog that I walk in neighborhoods all across San Antonio, so let me just say, that is a problem! 😬

What a pawfect from the wisdom of my calendar to carry with you into the weekend. ⬇️

Dogs are a great example of how to live in the moment. They’re ready to walk when you say it’s time to walk; they’re ready to play when you pick up the toy to play; they’re ready to go when you grab your keys and say let’s go; they’re ready to eat whenever you get the exact same kibble ready that they eat each and every single day and they enjoy it like it’s the first time they have ever had it! We could all take a page from a dogs book and focus on today and the simple things that make life grand! 🐕

This sweet toothless boy had a fabulous time turning 12 yesterday and these little moments always serve as a great reminder to slow down and simply enjoy spending some quality time with your four-legged FURiend! 🐕

Yes you should train your dog, yes you should play with your dog, yes you should walk your dog, and in addition to all of that you should also spend time with your dog. Doing so, just like all of the other activities listed, will only enhance the relationship you have with your pup! 🙌🏼

This is the last picture I took of my boy being an 11 year old all comfy cozy on the couch last night because today we are celebrating him turning 12! 🥳

We’ll be working away doing our normal thing today, but can’t wait to get home and celebrate with the pack for our first birthday of the new year! 🎉

Yes, yes and yes! 👏🏼

This is why you’ll often hear myself or other dog trainers speak about consistency, because as this explanation states, your consistency will go either way. If you consistently allow your dog to misbehave, it should be no surprise that your dog continues to misbehave even when you ask them not to. 🙃
With that being said, why wouldn’t you want your dog to consistently behave and thrive in a happy home with structure and boundaries!? Sounds like a much better option to me! 🙌🏼

Like letting your kids be bratty, disrespectful hellions the majority of the time, and then heading out for that fancy dinner and hoping the stern pre-dinner convo, and the during dinner empty posturing will hold back the tsunami of bad behavior you’ve given the green light to for years.

Haha, good luck with that. And good luck allowing your dog to be the equivalent canine hellion the majority of the time, and then, when you’ve decided good behavior is absolutely needed—for the walk, your guests, or that off-leash excursion—that your sudden shift in priorities and determination will hold back the tsunami of nonsense and disrespect you’ve trained your dog to engage in and perceive for years.

Do the hard work when you “don’t need it”, so the benefits are there when you do need it.
